Re: The write-on thread
Have had a week to start writing. Just finished up the reading and citations for the main sources, soooo guess I won't be sleeping much for the next two and a half days!

Anyone read Academic Legal Writing? Starting it now, heard it's amazingly helpful for the writing competition.

Submitted. Ours isn't due until the 31st, but I'm going home tomorrow and I know there's no way I would get any work done at home (I purposely stayed at school for the write on). Not entirely happy with my work, but whatever.

I think this edit test is infinite.
I keep editing, and there keeps being more and more to edit.

Ours said they would make sure to contact everyone before we have to submit stuff for OCI. So I guess mid July-ish at the latest?solotee wrote:When does everyone find out the results?

At least the "waiting-for-grades" anxiety will deflect the "waiting-for-LR" anxiety for a couple of weeks. Then once we get our grades and hear about journals, we'll have the "waiting-for-job-interviews" anxiety. This is really going to be an awesome summer/fall.TTH wrote:ditto. Writing isn't as bad as I thought. Footnoting everything I write is, however, a huge bitch. Should have at least half of this finished by today.

Law school is just an endless cycle of rejection, diminishing self-worth, and despair. Hopefully ending in sweet sweet suicide (or a job).Geist13 wrote:At least the "waiting-for-grades" anxiety will deflect the "waiting-for-LR" anxiety for a couple of weeks. Damn it, I was so far ahead and now it's due in 5 days and I still have about 3000 words to write with no motivation. I did finish the bluebook quiz however.

this has basically become what I tell my hometown friends when they ask how law school is: non-stop competition, never ending judgment, constant rejection, and tons of humblingmths wrote: Law school is just an endless cycle of rejection, diminishing self-worth, and despair. If I were to bet, given our location, I'd say suicide might have the edge.mths wrote:Law school is just an endless cycle of rejection, diminishing self-worth, and despair. I spent the day reading the Times cover to cover in the gorge, got lunch at the Carriage House, then took a nap in the sun before heading to a wine bar on the lake. But I hear the carrels are nice this time of year too.IthacaIsWet wrote:If I were to bet, given our location, I'd say suicide might have the edge.mths wrote:Law school is just an endless cycle of rejection, diminishing self-worth, and despair. I haven't had any time to work on the packet because my firm has kept me out until 10:00 pretty much every night. While the events are voluntary, I don't want to miss out on meeting all the partners and other SAs. I guess I'll get started on everything this weekend.

You scare me girl... Don't wimp out... too many Cornellians have already taken that route

Just over 5 hours before I turn in this awful pile of garbage I call my write-on petition. Spending 3/4 of the time outlining the readings was not a good idea...
