You go to NYU with a full scholarship. You are going to be fine.Anastasia Dee Dualla wrote:Um...I just got my other grade back to. Thank you for the much needed reality slap, but you have given me my free seventeen minutes of whining before putting down the hammer.keg411 wrote:

Two of three grades in this evening:
(in a good way)
I think I am already semi-out to my classmates at NYU, so no revealing what the actual grades were. Still, more than satisfied. Now, Contracts, don't go screwing this up.

Gotcha. I'm curious (and terrified) to see if this message will translate into actual grade changes for anyone. Would it have something to do with the prof's discretionary grading power?Stanford4Me wrote:Missed your earlier post.clintonius wrote:The one I quoted above, or do you have a different message? Must be something like that. I only have the message that my grades are final (but I'm still missing my Contracts grade, too).clintonius wrote: Gotcha. Re: 1L grade waiting thread
Hey guys
I finally got my rank today. I am 7th of 173, which puts me in the top 4 to 5% of the class. I am very thrilled.
Wishing you all as much luck on your grades!

NYU folks - I had that message too after my 2nd grade was released (I have all 3 now) and it went away in a few hours and nothing changed. On a related/slightly nitpicky note, does anyone know if an A- is a 3.67 or a 3.7 when calculating GPA (same question for B+ being 3.3 or 3.33)? And also what the median GPA is? Thanks.

Re: 1L grade waiting thread
A- is 3.67. Median should be somewhere very close to a 3.33, or a B+. It will vary marginally from year to year depending on whether professors are more or less generous with their discretionary grades.lessthanthree wrote:NYU folks - I had that message too after my 2nd grade was released (I have all 3 now) and it went away in a few hours and nothing changed. Thanks! For some reason I had heard it was closer to the 3.25-3.3 range. Damnit lol.

Still waiting for my last two grades. Guess I'll check later tonight since they were supposed to be up this afternoon. Our 50% cutoff is typically 3.07-3.09.

So who's winning the award for longest gap from last final and still having no grades, or for not having all grades in yet?
I already felt like my wait was too long when I got them, so I feel real bad for those of you still waiting

Last final was December 16. Grades are due at Duke on Jan 25th, then have to be analyzed by the registrar. We'll get them, at the latest, on February 1st. Classes started back on the 5th.

Don't know. Sucks that we have that memo due on Thursday, too. The beginning of this semester's going to suck, but at least the appellate brief will be done in early March.quakeroats wrote:How can they keep us going like this?thickfreakness wrote:Last final was December 16. The rank #2 idiot at my school was brave enough to announce his rank to his section. He followed up by starting a man-hunt for the rank #1 student.
