I'm with you, but I heard that it was the Dean's call and she said no.chuckbass wrote:Why wouldn't they?LET'S GET IT wrote:I thought cutoffs weren't changing this year.
And I'll go 30-40 on transferring. There are people who applied and were rejected, or were accepted but will stay anyway.

If this is real she sucks. People complained about her a lot and I never really had positive or negative feelings towards her, but this would be insanely stupid.LET'S GET IT wrote:Equal opportunityPourMeTea wrote:she hates c/o 2017 in general, not just the transfersLET'S GET IT wrote:I'm with you, but I heard that it was the Dean's call and she said no.chuckbass wrote:Why wouldn't they?LET'S GET IT wrote:I thought cutoffs weren't changing this year.

She has good reason to dislike the c/o 2017. While I get that it is in WUSTL's self-interest to recalculate the cut offs, it's also kind of TTT and hurts WUSTL's reputation. Try explaining it to anyone, including employers, and their reaction will likely be "That's so TTT."

Well... that is better than the 15.9% of 1Ls who left Mason, or the 21.1% that left American last year.PourMeTea wrote:last year, didn't 10% or so leave? i'd expect around the same this year.chuckbass wrote:http://www.top-law-schools.com/forums/v ... 7&t=250792registering wrote:How many WUSTLers are confirmed to be leaving so far

The 1L behavior at WUSTL, while hilarious to the outsider, is appalling and reminds one of the cutthroat horror stories you usually only hear about at TTTTs. Now I see why so many of you are leaving, more power to you.

It was disgusting. Truly and utterly. I consider myself to be relatively compassionate and even-keeled, but for the sake of this profession, and all that is holy, some of these people truly deserve to not succeed.trey ohh five wrote:The 1L behavior at WUSTL, while hilarious to the outsider, is appalling and reminds one of the cutthroat horror stories you usually only hear about at TTTTs. Yeah. I mean, does the school want everyone in the top 20% to transfer?Desert Fox wrote:It would so stupid to not recalculate.
If you know that your 1L school will re-calculate rank after a chunk of the top students transfer out, you have a significant incentive to stay. If I know that I could go from the top 15% to top 10% (or top 10% to top 5%), I'm more likely to stick around.

They will eventually recalculate (probably at the end of 2L fall). The issue is most important during OCI though, and at that time they can't be certain about who is and is not returning. Recalculation prior to the fall is speculative at best.Desert Fox wrote:It would so stupid to not recalculate.
I suspect those who do not transfer out still benefit from the transfers even without recalculation. Even at 15%, an applicant's grades might be one of the highest GPAs that the firm's recruiter and recruiting attorneys are seeing during that school's OCI pre-select process.

Nah. I blame adcomm to an extent. They instituted an interview process, yet failed to use it to use it constructively to weed out said "striver, ranked-obsessed" assholes. I mean, it's not that difficult to spot the assholes in our class. They were that conspicuous about it from the outset.Desert Fox wrote:WUSTTTLers have nobody but themselves to blames. Please summarize (or tell me where to find a discussion of) WUSTL's crimes. I have not been paying attention.

You guys have completely trashed WUSTL's rep on TLS (more so than objective data does)
Do you ever feel shitty about doing so, considering some of your friends may still be attending? Or do all transfers assume they weren't a part of the shitty culture problem?
This isn't an attack. I seriously wanna know.

I kind of hope people don't attend this institution in the future, and instead retake or at least find full rides. To answer your question, almost all my friends are transferring. I very much hope the ones that stay find success, and it's highly unlikely that any of this has an impact on their employability, so no, I don't feel shitty

Working lawyers (outside of a few freaks like me) don't read this forum and won't know about any of this. And even if all this stuff got on ATL, lawyers would just think that law students are being law students.runinthefront wrote:You guys have completely trashed WUSTL's rep on TLS (more so than objective data does)

As for prospective students, a few might read these threads and shy away from choosing WUSTL because of them. But collective memories are short. I mean, Latham decimated its first-year associate class in 2009, ruining hundreds of careers. Two years later, everyone wanted to work there again BECAUSE VAULT.

Re: A Most Sincere Middle Finger to Fake ADHD Law Students
I'm still undecided on staying or leaving, but I do think it's getting to be a bit much. Was my class horrible? Absolutely. Is a typical WUSTL class horrible? I don't think so at all. I still think it was more of an anomaly and the incoming class will be better. The only reason I think it may stay bad is because the new admin is pretty bad, but yeah, as a current student I think the WUSTL TLS hate is a little overblown.runinthefront wrote:You guys have completely trashed WUSTL's rep on TLS (more so than objective data does)
