Re: OFFICIAL 1L Exam Prep & Motivation Thread (CSWS)
Had my torts mid-term today and I'm not sure how to handle when multiple issues come up involving the same rules. For example, there were about 6 different claims of negligence that revolved around whether a duty was breached. I know you are supposed to state the rule (depending on professor) before going into the analysis, but I felt that it would be extremely redundant restating the same rules over and over, and in the later issues I just jumped straight to the analysis using the same rules (of course, still stating that its the same type of issue). Is this generally acceptable, or should I just learn to repeat myself over and over again?

I didn't repeat myself, I just said "see A v B for the negligence standard. In this case..." insert analysis here.

Having a really hard time getting back to studying after that first exam. On the one hand, I feel pretty prepared, on the other hand, I know that there is a lot of work I should be doing still.
Gonna have to just push through, it looks like.

Same here! I have Prop tomorrow and then Civ Pro on Monday, but I think my motivation is actually negative right now. I wasn't sure it was possible, but I think I may have made it happen.

At library, not studying. Five days until last final, hoping motivation kicks in before next week.

Legal Memo score came back. It was out of 200 points. Highest score was 171, lowest score was 96 and I got a 166!

I can't see this turning out well. Don't know wether I should try and winnow out the issues on this exam and expect them to be on the next exam. Need to figure out my strategy, haha.JG7773 wrote:Happy Holidays!thelong wrote:CivPro prof just accidentally mailed class our monday exam. Lulz.

On the one hand, I think I do have some advantage in thinking quickly and writing under a time constrained testing environment, so it might not necessarily be best for me to do a take home because I don't always have the ambition to just grind on the same thing for days on end.polkij333 wrote:I'd bet it becomes take-home due Mondaythelong wrote:I can't see this turning out well. On the other, it would at least cut down on the need to study everything.
