1L grade waiting thread Forum

Fordham 1L. No grades. Annoyed even more because our career services office just sent out an email inviting us to a reception with eight white shoe firms next week. This seems like a great opportunity when none of us have any idea whether these firms will even talk to us when it matters. I'm just so frustrated with this process right now.

I had an exam on October 1st. Guess what, still no grade (I'm a 2L). You guys shouldn't fret until you can top my 3 month wait.

well in this case, all the A answers were the same style and he mentioned in class that he wants us to talk to him in our exam and not spell out every element, etc. he said to use the terminology we used in class and stuff.

I cant even begin to understand what happened here...maybe he was annoyed by the blatant use of A answers to model our answers? He doesnt distribute model answers because he said everyone will try and give him the same thing then...and he doesnt grade with points, so all I can think of is that our exams just pissed him off.

No reason to think your group were the only people who modeled their style after model answers. Other people probably did that AND used more terminology, spotted more elements, etc.

this is likely as well...probably a combination of over-doing it and focusing more on the gimmicky aspect of the answer than the substance of the answer. fail. I think I was so busy giving him what I think he wanted to read that I didnt put enough substance in...though parts of my answer I thought were really good. I must meet with him and see what the hell happened.

out of curiosity, did all of you who have received grades already restart classes at your school? did you exams finish before dec 20?

You're not alone. At GW our semester started Jan. 3, our last exam was Dec. 18, and we won't get grades for another week or so. Some schools take their time.

Our exams were December 6-16th.

School started back Jan 3.

No grades.

You're not alone. At GW our semester started Jan. 3, our last exam was Dec. 18, and we won't get grades for another week or so. Some schools take their time.

also, emory.. last exam dec. 15th and all we have is lwrap grades (which we got before break)

my guess is professors are using the "snow week" we had off to slack on their grading

whoa, professor sent out excel spreadsheet last week with raw scores/grade cutoffs, and I had a B+. After she turned in her official grades that B+ magically turned into an A-... jackpot

It has been confirmed - grades will be released on 1/20. But the person I spoke to in the registrar office said, "Do I think the grades will be released in the morning? No."

No Torts grade at 5:30 tells me our prof won't have them for us til next week. If 10 out of 12 of the 1L professors can have their grades in by now, why can't she?

Presumably, all of our grades are in by now. They just don't want to release them until next week. Why? I have no fucking clue.
