Ach, then you are missing out. Black Label is passable enough when you're in a bar that has little of the good stuff on offer. There are definately single malts that taste worse. Gold label is pleasantly drinkable, and I know of few that would turn down a dram of Blue.

Why, because it's old and expensive? Half the people who flip out about Blue have never drank it.

A real man's drink involves: Everclear - not the pussy 151 proof stuff. The 190 proof stuff, and you mix that down to a good 175-ish proof with Bacardi 151. You can then flavor with a couple shots of johnny or Jäger, and add some fire to the mix.
That'll grow beards on your sperm.

Jameson is twice the man that Johnny ever was.
Johnny is a blended scotch, and rightfully deserves scorn.
Johnny Red shouldn't even exist. Black should be the bottom rung. Green and above are actually palatable.
Fake edit: I have had blue. It's pretty damn good.

No, because it tastes good and yes I do know what it tastes like. Perhaps not as good as the price would suggest but like anything, there's a law of diminishing returns when your whisky goes above $100 a bottle.

Southern Tier has a delicious double IPA that I had once, a true hoppy concoction that tickles my taste buds.

I read a good article about how they pretty much made Blue label to up sales of Green. Some psych/economics take on how the existence of a slightly higher quality, much more expensive option leads to feeling good about getting the almost as good, yet way cheaper option.

Red is horrible. There is nothing it does well. Nothing. For the price, you can have better American or Irish whiskey. And it makes a horrible show for the Scotch name. Black I could drink in a mixed drink or straight if pressed. Red? I wouldn't even let it be in my smokey martini. It'd cheapen the gin.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
