Registrar released an email entitled: Fall 2010 Grades.

I open up the email, which says: Fall 2010 Grades will be released on January 27th, 2010.

They're likely instituting an "official" curve here next year and a bunch of the 1L profs are on the committee, so everyone has been pretty good in respect to grading.

My school's "statement on grade normalization" says that 1L has a mandated
curve range of 2.95-3.05. I saw someone earlier on the thread say that 3.2
is around where top third starts is that right? Im at a T2 that's strong in the
immediate region hovering around a 3.2 just trying to stay above the fray.
Do you really think that anyone can tell you what GPA equals what rank when the only information you've given them is that your school curves to about a 3.0?
If law students knew statistics they wouldn't take out 200K to attend St. Johns.
dear lord. were you not breast-fed as a child? lol just a question I now realize is close to impossible to answer.
I like TLS a lot even though i dont go to a top law school but its kinda turned into a t-14 PMS forum.
and btw I go because of a scholarship like a lot of people do.

You're suggesting there was a point TLS wasn't a t-14 PMS forum?

It's really hard to be motivated for class without knowing what my grade was for that class.

Thanks, I can't believe it myself.

Actually think it might be a trick or a mistake, I keep going back and checking and re-checking to make sure they don't change.

Hoping to repeat this semester and transfer to a TLS level respectable school.

I know the feeling. I have reloaded my grades page more times than I can count since grades came out. Good luck with the transfer process.

In a normal distribution, 3.1 median law school, 3.8 is almost always around top 2-2.5%.

There could be an anomaly of killer students, but top 2% is absolutely a safe guess. And he didn't claim to know, he just said it sounds like it.
