Yea there is a journal at NU that allows 1L's to join provisionally. Some people do it because they are gunners, some because they want to practice for write on, or others, like me, so I don't have to do the week long write on competition in May.

I plan on being belligerently drunk during write on.

I wasn't getting on LR anyway. This is a short cut. And I can put it on my resume. I'll probably do less work this way too. But it just happens to be due tonight. FML.

Knowing that the weekend is somehow already over and I have to endure 5 more painful days before the next one makes me want to throw up.

An interesting observation in class today. From where I sit, near the back, I can see most computer screens fairly well. Usually, its just people chatting or checking Facebook.

But today, I noticed five people perusing the transfer pages at various universities. Two people who seemed to have their heart set on New York (CLS), one person checking out Palo Alto (SLS), and two other people looking into the East Bay (Boalt).

Weird.

Yeah. It's not even a standard at my school. classmates of mine in other LW sections have all had a good laugh at the two sections that have graded drafts.

"Graded" and "draft" should not appear in the same sentence.

So, the aforementioned graded draft/FailFest is nearly finished to the extent I'll probably wrap it up tomorrow morning. I was pissy to begin with that we have graded LRW in the first place. Knowing my prof is sticking it to us a little harder makes it all the worse.

Same is going to be said about my brief argument draft... and I loved LRW last semester too :(. Parts of it are starting together, but at least half of it is awful and I'm totally lost.

Property mid-term was unbelievably hard. Who knew present and future estates + rule against perpetuities could create such ridiculously long and convoluted questions.

defeated.

Someone mentioned that you guys were having one. Sucks to hear. I'll take the all-or-nothing final exam any day of the week (which is odd because I initially hated that idea).

I'm trying to write a brief, and I keep having an urge to, in place of the the word "lying", write "bearing false witness" or "bearing falsehoods".

i feel like this is some sort of trick question - yes it is graded. but even though the prof calls it a midterm, it was only over what we covered so far, which is about 1/3 of the material of the entire class, so it will only count for 1/3 of our grade.

thanks for the sympathy pirate. i feel like our section gets the short end of the stick compared to other sections and their open note exams and their lax lrw classes.

I think everybody feels like that at some point or another. One section gets better profs, one gets fewer assignments, one has open note exams (my section didn't have a single open-note exam last semester, while most others did), etc. It's just one of those things you don't have much control over. I'd guess it's safe to say that it evens out over the course of the year though.

I am barely getting the willpower to do the bare minimum assigned reading today. Came home today at 5 and instead of getting to sleep I ate a big meal and went to take a 2 hour nap. After speaking with a few people from my section today it seems like everyone has relaxed this semester compared to last. Not sure if we're less scared cause we know whats coming or because everyone is just burned out but at his time last semester I was in the library tearing through supplements and starting outlines till 10 p.m. while now I am barely getting through the reading and half our section is planning on skipping Thursday because of the supposed good weather.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
