What is this colorable defense thing you speak of? Sorry, I have drowned all of my 1L knowledge with booze, coke and hookers at this point.Renzo wrote:Well, at least you've got a colorable defense.ToTransferOrNot wrote:

Now you don't sound like a student at all! Now I think you're a 3rd year associate and an impostor!ToTransferOrNot wrote:What is this colorable defense thing you speak of? I just took an advance on my bigpaycheck for 2L summer. A custom made suit, the finest hookers and blow money can buy, and Johnny Blue. Oh yeah

I'm going to try to do this too, but.....will probably not succeed.thesealocust wrote: I think I'm going to try to not look until they're all in this time. I am not optimistic about my chances of success in that endeavor.
I think it depends which of my grades comes in first (the alert emails tell you the class, but not the grade). For certain classes I might go ahead and check. Others....not so much.

I wish ours came in as they are submitted. My school waits until all grades are in before posting, unnecessarily drawing out this gut-wrenching process.

Mine does the same. However, it may be less gut-wrenching this way. I'd rather live 4 weeks knowing I'll be beheaded than live 2 weeks knowing I'll have each limb lopped off one at a time for the remaining 2 weeks.A'nold wrote:I wish ours came in as they are submitted. This. It's much better to have them all at once, and I would expect anyone who's got them grade by single grade would feel this way. Even when grades are released in some order that might be objectively preferable ("Do you want the good news or the bad news first?"), it's crap. You can't form a complete reaction to anything because you know the rest of your grades can change everything. But you get several times the amount of nervous energy since you know that any grade can be released at any time.seespotrun wrote:Mine does the same. However, it may be less gut-wrenching this way. Nah, I'd rather have them one by one. I'm very impatient.

If there was one day where they were all certain to come out, and that day was known in advance, I would absolutely prefer it. The constant refreshing of the grades page that starts ~2 weeks after finals sucks.

Some quick turn-in times are my due after last semester, when I didn't get my first grade until the second week of spring semester. I have 2 out of 5 grades in.

Why have I checked my grades three times on a Sunday? I know the Registrar isn't slaving away on a Sunday afternoon. And yet I'm still clicking away.
It's a sickness, I tell you.

I have 2 out of 5 grades in and I'm dying for the rest. I also checked twice today even though it's sunday and completely irrational.

+1. Checked grades, drove across four state lines, parked for the night, checked again.sf87 wrote:I also checked twice today even though it's sunday and completely irrational.

You guys that have one or two grades in already are extremely lucky. I know not to expect anything until mid june. Normally that would be cool, but it puts you at a significant disadvantage for interview programs and scholarships with deadlines before then. I wish I had just half of my grades to be able to report at this point.

I have a grade up: LRW. I probably need to go check it. FML. Someone tell me it's at least semi unlikely that I got something in the C range, given a B- on my long memo, which was 30% of my grade. The assignments themselves weren't curved, but the class itself has to follow a modified version of the curve, though it's under 20 people.
