We were given our ranks today in the form of: XX out of 126. For my resume should I put it like this (XX out of 126 students) or should I convert it into the percentile (top XX%)?

I wouldn't put rank on resume.

Oh really? I thought it was just assumed that you're supposed to. What if it makes my GPA look better (my school has a pretty harsh curve...median is around 2.6 or so)? My ranking isn't phenomenal, but it sure looks better than my GPA does right now.

Yeah I would put top xx% on my resume if I had it because x/class size where class size is pretty small just doesn't look as impressive.

im going with this format: GPA: 3.xx (Top 6-7%)

i figure i need all the help i can get... muh school name aint gonna carry me that far

Is it ok to put the exact percent rather than the nearest cutoff? And if not, what are the commonly accepted cutoffs? Is it in increments of 5% up until 50%?

Half of my grades are in! Sitting at top 1/3 comfortably. Next grades are my best classes. Hopefully I can push into top 15%!

Admittedly and unabashedly, I submit to the latter.

To my dismay, most of the alleged "gunners" did not do well. The quiet ones conquered. And they did half the work I did. Lawl school.
