(4*3.67+4*3.33+3*3.33)/11

I'm not sure what the best strategy is. What does the 1L elective/2L curve look like? Maybe it is worth gunning where there is more room at the top. If the curve is the same at the top with more B+'s, maybe that's wrong.

Every time I try to think about this stuff I just get caught up in game theory BS. Law school is equal parts arms races and prisoner's dilemma, imho.

Oh you're right, I totally forgot about the relaxed 1L Elective curve. Does that apply to ALL electives? I heard a rumour it doesn't for some, but I wasn't sure.

I don't know and I don't think they want us to know. I've heard that some profs grade under the curve. Some folks are in 2L classes, so those will obviously use the 2L curve. I don't know if the elective curve is the same or not, but I'd suspect it is. I doubt they fiddle with the curve too many ways. I think the problem is that the curve only has a suggested bounds on both sides, but profs can play around within those boundaries if they choose to do so. So, one prof might widen the top to have more room at the bottom (or the opposite) but another might choose just to give as many people as possible a B+.

This may be a strange twist in my situation..

I received an e-mail today from my Torts professor reminding me to join the CALI LinkedIn group. To get an invitation, you have to win a CALI award, ten of which were given out here (two for each class). But.. I never received a previous e-mail about getting a CALI award. I believe those e-mails were already sent out early on Friday. I think my Torts professor handles all of the CALI stuff, so even if I did CALI, that does not mean it was in his class. The e-mail doesn't specify which class it's about.

I was under the impression that CALI award winners are given an A+ on the transcript, but I have no A+ listed.. only that mysterious failing grade in Torts. I'm holding out some small hope that I actually dropped a CALI in Torts but my transcript is wrong.

It's also possible I just got the e-mail by accident..

I e-mailed him back, but no reply yet..

Don't do that to yourself man. Don't get your hopes up THAT much. 99% of the time, you'll just be disappointed.
