I ended up watching 2 episodes of the west wing tonight instead of reading for PR.

what was i thiiiinking not taking this eeexaaaammm toooddaaayyyy. ffuuuuckkkkk. should have just got this shit over with and taken the extra day to study for something that might actually be difficult. instead i sat around mindlessly highlighting my outline and reading crunchtime. fuuuuuuuckkk that was not a good use of tiiiime.

I am mid 24-hr exam right now, and yet this will likely be the last time I have to fuck around and get a decent amount of sleep until after finals, since I still have 2 classes I haven't learned anything for yet...

I thought I would like the take home format, but I really hate it. Just gimme 3-4 hours to dump words on a page and let me GTFO.Holly Golightly wrote:I am mid 24-hr exam right now, and yet this will likely be the last time I have to fuck around and get a decent amount of sleep until after finals, since I still have 2 classes I haven't learned anything for yet...

Re: 2L. No motivation
I'm oddly indifferent to the world right now. I took an exam today, didn't feel any nerves beforehand, didn't feel any nerves during, didn't feel any relief after I finished. an hour later I started studying for partnership. Now I'm 16 consecutive hours in, and I don't feel tired, burnt out, or exhausted. I'm just going through the motions. It's really weird.

I'm done with law school. I'm sitting here at 8:30 the next morning and I have absolutely no idea what to do with myself.

I considered both of those options, but I think I'm going to go play golf instead.
I realized I only go back to bed when I'm depressed...and I'm not depressed anymore.

Also, tax today. I'm generally kind of shitty at multiple choice exams, but I'd rather deal with the multiple choice and the math then write essays... at least for this class.

Can someone teach me the Due Process Clause?

It means whatever you need it to mean to satisfy your professor's political bias.Always Credited wrote:Can someone teach me the Due Process Clause?

Then it's a very broad provision that requires states to guarantee not just procedural fairness, but also to protect substantive rights, including (but not limited to) most of what's in the Bill of Rights. Need to find a right to privacy? Abortion? Use the Due Process Clause of the 14th Amendment. If you're writing it for a liberal professor, it is NOT used to guarantee economic/property rights. Liberal law professors hate anything that smells like a revival of the Lochner era. Also should not be used for gun rights, etc.Always Credited wrote:doods a libphilly_law wrote:It means whatever you need it to mean to satisfy your professor's political bias.Always Credited wrote:Can someone teach me the Due Process Clause?

Re: 2L. No motivation
I find the lack of adrenaline I have on exams is a really bad thing for test-taking. In 1L I always was scared shitless and used that energy to type and focus. Now I write about 1/5th less and if I finish early, instead of going back and adding things or spotting more issues, I just give up. At least this won't matter with my all multiple choice exam.

Re: 2L. No motivation
I had the same problem last semester. I was so calm the entire finals period I don't think my brain ever got fired up properly. Since my class rank went the toilet after that I'm basically scared shitless 1L style again, and I'm regarding that as a good thing...not like, having a panic attack in an exam scared, just hyped up enough to be motivated.D-hops wrote:I find the lack of adrenaline I have on exams is a really bad thing for test-taking.
