Northwestern Law Class of 2014
Because it's never too early for a new thread. Due to the impending birth of child #1, I requested a deferral from NU and was notified today that it's all official...now for the long wait while I desperately job search in the Appalachian parts of Ohio...that should be easy.
So who's joining me in dreaming of lake shore drive from afar for a year?

Oh god. Depending on how my LSAT goes. I'm in. 4 years of work experience better pay off....

I also got a deferral (though I didn't ask for it) and I'm very excited to be in the class of 2014! Good luck with the baby. And the job hunt. And getting your medical license renewed.

My guess is that you could explain your lack of transportation to the admissions office and set up a phone interview...they seem very flexible...but from what I saw last year w/a 168 you'd really need some work experienceIldeuce wrote: Quick question- I always hear about Northwestern being all about the LSAT, work experience, and that they really like you to do the interview. Fun facts- no full-time work experience, I cannot interview (don't own a car to drive to the nearest city), and my stats are 3.88/168. Should I go ahead and save myself the fee and forgo NU?

I think someone with a 168 would really need some WE.Ildeuce wrote:Quick question- I always hear about Northwestern being all about the LSAT, work experience, and that they really like you to do the interview. That being said if you really want a chance/want to interview couldn't you have someone drive you? Rent a car for a day? Or take public transpo? (Sorry if that comes off as snarky! I don't mean to be) Good luck

I plan/hope to be there! I have the high LSAT and the WE and the terrible GPA, just like NU loves. Let's hope it's enough.

And I have an engineering degree! I don't know why I'm even applying anywhere else.

@ homestyle28 congrats!
I'm wondering what kind of questions did they ask during the interview. Are you allowed to share?
I'm hoping for NU also! God Willing. I'm also interested in what kind of jobs y'all had before applying to NU.

Re: Northwestern Law Class of 2014
From what I've seen this differs a lot based on whether or not you interview with an alum or with the admissions office. My own interview was a little odd, I interviewed with an alum, but his career is in cemetery care (not a joke!). My hunch is that an interview with a BigLaw or otherwise more legally involved than mine was might be different. That being said, it really felt like more of a conversation. He asked the general interview questions (tell me about yourself, why law school? why NU?), but it also felt like he was recruiting me a bit.ugobabe86 wrote: I'm wondering what kind of questions did they ask during the interview. I'd really suggest the alumni interview, talking with someone who is enthusiastic about the school is pretty exciting.
