Put me down as potentially interested. My wife starts work mid-July and if childcare is taken care of I might be free...and they way the cubs are playing tix should be cheap.Nola wrote:Hey people. Anybody interested in meeting up sometime in July or August for a pre 1HELL get together?

I'm done with work next week (woot woot!) and was thinking of arranging a TLS meetup after 4th of July; my dad would never forgive me if he knew I was attending a Cubs game, but I won't tell if you won'thomestyle28 wrote:Put me down as potentially interested. Doing all this FinAid acceptance stuff at 2:30 a.m. because I'm leaving tomorrow to go to South America for 10 days. They say the window is 2 weeks and basically I'd get back with 36 hours to finish all this stuff and I'd rather not have to worry. Doing the "entrance counseling" online right now. Booooorrrrring

Speaking of FinAid acceptance: I've accepted the scholarship, but what do I need to do next, and when? When do we accept loans?

Yeah, that's what they tell you... but they lied last year. We didn't find out until much later. We all figured it out through the blackboard rosters.Eugenie Danglars wrote:I think the packet said after August 15th and before orientation.Aine wrote:Anyone know when we find out what sections we're in?

But how much later could it be? I mean, they have to tell you by the first day of class (the 29th) so you know how to show up, right?

Welcome to Northwestern. It's not the last time the administration will push the bounds of what you thought possible. Our working theory is that admin is full of splitters.Eugenie Danglars wrote:You'll have to teach us your sneaky waysIAFG wrote:Yeah, that's what they tell you... but they lied last year. According to a Johann tweet, Chick-fil-A is opening near campus. I am going to feel right at home in Chicago.

I quite enjoyed my first proper Chicago dog at Portillo's, though. I can see myself spending some time there.

I'm torn between my love for their waffle fries and my distaste for the way they put personal beliefs into business.

My sis in law has done some consultant work for them...apparently they really do open meetings with prayer. While this doesn't really bother me as a concept, it has to be weird.Eugenie Danglars wrote:I'm torn between my love for their waffle fries and my distaste for the way they put personal beliefs into business.

Yeah, that would be odd. I wonder how many employees are atheists who just grin and bear it.homestyle28 wrote:My sis in law has done some consultant work for them...apparently they really do open meetings with prayer. I did!! So excited! "Latham & Watkins Law Preview Scholar" will look nice on our resumes too. What class are you taking? I'm doing the June one at USC.SMA22 wrote:Just got an email from Latham & Watkins; I got a Law Preview scholly--any of you gunners, see you there... Any other winners?

Quite frankly, their chicken sandwich and waffle fries outweigh any religious or homophobic corporate ideals. It's not like I am working there.Eugenie Danglars wrote:I'm torn between my love for their waffle fries and my distaste for the way they put personal beliefs into business.
