Advice from the Ask a Wake Student Thread
If you're taking a cab and want to be in an area where you can walk from bar to bar, then 4th Street downtown is your best bet. Tate's (slightly more upscale), Rec Billiards (beer only, no liquor), Foothills Brewery, etc. are all decent places within a block or two of each other.
The Tap in West End is a bar which usually has a group of law students there on any given night, and you can also walk to West End Opera House.
Finnegan's Wake downtown is also a decent bar. However, it's a little far to walk from most 4th street bars and there's not much else close by.
Rec Billards sounds good. Pool, beer, what else could one possible want?

So the dude from Penn state is the new Melanie nutt?! Good thing I was extra cordial in my emails & ultimate decline of penn's generous offer
He was very helpful in the psu thread & via email. Good replacement I think.
I'll be staying @ the la Quinta for HH & 3 nights before that. They allow pets & I bring my doggy everywhere w me.
I'm really excited!! I may not b at the baseball game & BBQ, but I'll def be there saturday morning.
Jdem, the fun is going to be significantly limited without u.

Re: Wake Forest University School of Law 2014
Hey people, I posted the following a while back and didn't get a response, so I thought I would re-post now that the time for looking for roommates/housing is getting closer. Hopefully you're all enjoying your last law-free summer:
Hey guys, welcome to Wake. I'm a current 3L and am probably at least as excited to leave as you all are to start. If any of you are currently looking for housing for the fall, check out the flyer linked below. It's where I currently live with two other roommates. There have been law students at this house for at least five years now and the landlord is very laid back and doesn't bother us at all, but is responsive when we need him. It's been a great place for the two years I've lived here and is extremely close to the law school. In fact, you can easily walk there and save the outrageous parking permit costs that Wake charges...I know several people in the neighborhood who walk to campus, including one of my roommates. Included with rent, just behind the house, there is a large deck with a hot tub and bar that is perfect for hosting social events when you have the time. If you're interested in checking out the house, call me (540-570-6814) and I can arrange for you to stop by or I can put you in contact with our landlord. If you have any questions about the house or about Wake or law school in general, feel free to email me (don't know how often I'll check back here, so emailing is the way to go), at bentyree1@gmail.com.
Thanks for looking, congrats on your admission, and again welcome to Wake!

Are pets allowed at this property? Is only one room available or is the whole house available?

Does anyone know what the June 11th financial aid deadline is for? Do we have to submit loan requests at that time?

I'm thinking you have to have all your loan stuff done by then...apply for gradplus, do loan entrancing, sign your MPN. Don't forget that you can increase your gradplus amount up to 1500 for a new computer...just make a notation for Ms. Cromer when you email her back that page with your loan requests on it.YankeesFan wrote:Does anyone know what the June 11th financial aid deadline is for? Ms. Nutt is just that much of a baller that she can still send congratulations letters even though she doesn't work there anymore.

If we aren't playing dangerous, why bother? I don't wear shin pads. So I emailed jenny about my paperwork, and she said all I need to worry about tuition, insurance and a picture. Huh? I have to supply my own photo like a passport. I am nervous.

Art0, timduncan for mvp posted it in the wake thread for acceptances, waitlists, rejects. You can find it searching his posts. Also, ask the ask a wake student thread, they know best and will answer when possible.
