my nyu status checker said "decision letter sent" the day before my last undergrad final...definitely wasn't studying that night haha

I got in right before finals last semester too!!! I had my super hard final last, and the whole way to the class I was daydreaming about NYU. Law school is definitely the worst thing to happen to undergrad GPAs.

No dress code. You'll feel comfortable in anything, but I'd say go business casual.

Polo/jeans or like a casual button up and jeans (depending on the weather) is legit. You never know if you have to meet with admissions, finaid, etc. And you will have opportunities to speak with faculty as well. Don't wanna look bummy.

I wore a t-shirt and jeans (with a jacket though it was freezing out) and felt perfectly comfortable. And I had a meeting with a faculty member about the deans scholly.

Does anyone know if we're going to get more goodies from NYU? They've kind of been lacking in material, so it'd be nice to have some more brochures at least. Now that we've paid our deposits they should make us feel loved!

I appreciate the sentiment, but in reality I'm mostly just excited that my cycle is officially complete!

I never got the message either. You just have to go to home.nyu.edu and it'll prompt you to sign up.

I never got the email either— I just went to webpage linked from the admitted student page and tried and it worked.

Also: beware! You get a standard address (initials + 3 digit #), and you can then go and make a "personal" email which will allow you to make it as you like. But you can only change it once a year! So if you do it, make sure you do it right.

I did (first-initial)(last-name)@nyu.edu before realizing that it's more standard to do (first-name).(last-name)@nyu.edu and now I can't change it for a year. At least the one I did is fine.

I believe we do. I mean, I think it works whether you send to @nyu.edu OR @law.nyu.edu. I think.

EDIT: Eh, maybe not. Tried and failed. I could've sworn I saw that somewhere... 4 valid email addresses, two each for your "personal" one and auto-generated one. Maybe I'm losing it.

I do! Whenever I say I'm a senior people always ask think I mean in high school. So now with this plain Jane NYU email, they'll still think I'm an ickle undergrad.

On a happier note, I got my goody bag from CLS today complete with the NYC guidebook, so now courtesy of our rival those of us not from the city can take advantage! The Village definitely looks like a magical, magical place!
