Re: UVA Class of 2014
Yeah, I've been wanting to start looking for housing too. I'd also want to live with roommates cuz it's more fun and saves $$$...the only place I've really looked into so far is Ivy gardens, which is where my friend who's a current student told me to live cuz it's literally like a 2 minute walk from the law school...for some reason I can't access their site right now to check rates...but yeah, let me know if you've got a plan/ need a roommate.

Re: UVA Class of 2014
I checked rates, 2 bedroom is $925, and they're not all that big. It seems like they would be fine but I still think theres better stuff out there if you look (maybe on Craig's list)...but maybe I'm totally wrong. If this is where everyone's living it might be the best bet. I found another townhouse complex on craig's list that has 2 bedrooms on Arlington Blvd for $725.turkeysub wrote:Yeah, I've been wanting to start looking for housing too. Re: UVA Class of 2014
I plan on living in Ivy the first year just to be close to most of the other law students. I had a place set up for this year at the Graduate Center on Arlington but had to get out of it because of deferral. I don't intend on going back cuz the lady I had to deal with was a total flake. So I think I'll just go Ivy for the first year and see how I like it.
Figured it was too early to start this discussion, but since it's been brought up I too would like to find a roommate so I'll throw my name into the hat as well.

Do you think theres any 3/4 bedroom housing on Arlington blvd? I haven't been able to find anything on Craigs list. I'd rather live with more ppl to make rent cheaper.

Graduate Centre has 4-bedroom units (each with bathroom) with shared living facilities. You rent the bedroom.[/quote]A 2 bedroom for 725? mind posting a link? Thats awsome because i live in a two bedroom right now in Austin and me and my roomate each pay 850... so 1700 a month lol

I'd also love to throw myself in the roommate ring. Just a teeny bit of info about me, I'm a girl, straight out of undergrad, and ideally I'd like to live with another girl, relatively close to my age.
A general question... How common is it to rent the same apartment for all three years? I'd really prefer not to deal with the hassel of moving all my stuff in and out. Do people do this?

My file went complete yesterday, but I haven't gotten an email about the ED contract I mailed on Monday. Is that a problem?

I've been wondering about how one goes about finding roommates as well. Do people sometimes discuss stuff like this at ASW?

I read somewhere that most of the apartments in Ivy Gardens/Jeffersonian Apartments are gone by ASW.CaliMizzou wrote:I've been wondering about how one goes about finding roommates as well. Do people sometimes discuss stuff like this at ASW?

Does UVA only waitlist ED applicants, or do they also reject ED applicants. I got waitlisted. Is that a polite rejection?

Re: UVA Class of 2014
Is there any way we could get a facebook group going for admitted students looking for roomates? Like a separate group than the clss of 2014 one. It seems like there's a lot of us on here who want to get the housing ball rolling. It'd be nice if we could all actually get interaction with e. other aside from an anonymous setting like TLS. Plus I think it'd be better at matching ppl up instead of just arbitrarily commiting to rooming when you don't even know the other person's real name lol.

Why a separate group? Why not just start a discussion there?pjo wrote:Is there any way we could get a facebook group going for admitted students looking for roomates?
