3.87 (ivy), 163 lsat.
wish me luck..maybe we balance each other out
This will be a good test, your GPA is above median but not above the 75%. Your ED right?
ED, yes. So is that a bad sign if my gpa is above the median, but not above the 75?. My lsat is low for uva, but just learned that 1/2 the students from my ivy undergrad get in if they have received a fee waiver.......................yes, and I got one!
Also,. I am questionable urm. I think I am, but this board begs to differ. We shall see
And yea dude not a single person or admissions officer cares you went to an "ivy" undergrad especially if it wasnt HYP
UVA takes about 1/2 the students from my Ivy to whom they gave fee waivers..good sign..it increases my odds of acceptance to 50%
Questionable URM because I think I am (other Hispanic), although this board begs to differ.
Who are the folks on this board...a bunch of 20-somethings who have never sat on an admissions committee??? So how would you even know the significance of "other URM"..esp one who is bilingual!

Do they teach that correlation does not equal causation at your Ivy? You should know not to make this assumption from your LSAT practice. That fact does not increase your chances of acceptance to 50%.

Erm, I dunno if you can look at it that way; I'm bilingual and probably somewhat of a literal URM, but that doesn't mean they're going to give admissions preference for 2nd generation German immigrants, brah...oder?

let me get this straight. you come to TLS unsolicited and ask for advice. TLS members, who are extremely in tune with law school admissions and adcoms, respond to your call for advice. you don't like the advice, so we become "a bunch of twenty-somethings" who know nothing. Yay antagonism!

Accepted yesterday with a full tuition scholarship!!
I didn't have UVa super high on my list, but now it's definitely a huge option that I'm considering

Congrats. Still waiting for a decision here. This is rapidly becoming torture -- expecting a WL e-mail at some point today.

Maybe I'll get lucky and get REJECTED BY EVERY SCHOOl. I was just reading some horror stories about recent grads getting temp jobs for $20/hr, lawyers doing housecleaning for a living. Maybe the best thing for me is to get rejected everywhere and apply in a few years if the market turns around..Oh, and outsourcing work to India.
I don't think I'll be able to sleep tonight

True, that ivy degree must be worth something. Perhaps I can sell it for $1million bucks

Well doesn't everyone who has a million dollars already have an Ivy degree?
I think you and Chris Berman would get along well.

Must be a troll. Also if you went to HYP maybe a little bump, but really you think Cornell is going to bump your 163 up that much?

Master, this fine young lady/gentleman has a question that I believe you have the depth of experience to answer.
"Are government majors hard?"
I gave my best effort, but I believe you may have a better answer than I did.
Isn't this a bit off the topic of UVA admissions?
