I can't speak to the law community specifically, but I know Durham extremely well, and if you are athletic and don't/can't drive, a bike is a great way to go. Parking can be a pain on campus, but I agree very important if you want to be mobile. The Duke buses which run between east and west campus run very frequently. If we head to Duke next year, I will be looking for houses (not apt) to rent/buy off East Campus or downtown Durham (near farmers market).

So, random question: is there a Class of 2014 facebook group?

Also, how is Pinnacle Ridge with partying? I'm all about having a good time on weekends, but I'm gonna be living with my girlfriend (who will be working FT), and she's a little worried about getting a good night's sleep. Should we look elsewhere, or are we fine in PR?

This. If not, does anyone happen to know around what time we should expect to see scholarship offers?
I spoke to them ages ago in the Fall and they said late January at the time. But it seems like every school is running behind this year, so maybe early Feb?

I was in the first wave of scholly's last year, and I just checked my letter. It was dated February 10th.

Re: Noise at Pinnacle. I guess if you happen to be next to one of the apartments with a party on friday/saturday then you might have noise from 10-12. Personally, I have never heard a peep from my neighbors. There are quite a few young families and working folk, so it's pretty peaceful 99% of the time. Nowhere near what my ugrad complex was like.

Awesome, that sounds great to me: nice and quiet during the week, pregaming on the weekends. Thanks for the heads up.

You're not saying that parties only last from 10-12 are you? What time do the bars close in Durham/Chapel Hill?

Bars close at 2, we usually leave for them at 11 (I think the pregames are actually 9-11). And I've never been to a party where we don't go out, hence the early exit.

I talked with someone at Pinnacle, and other than setting up an appointment to see it, was kind of confused. Does anyone know when do you have to apply to have a shot at living there?

For posterity, everyone got fall grades at about 4:30 pm on January 31st, and grades were due to registrar from profs on January 25th. Posted because I know you will be TLS searching when you are inevitably anxious about grades.

Speaking of dual degree programs/summer starts.. when should we hear about the other degree? I was accepted to the law school but have yet to hear from the other. Anyone know?

This board is very quiet and I'm very bored at work. Anyone up for playing the age game? I'll be 25 next fall.
