Aww thanks. I wasn't fishing for sympathy (sorry if it sounded like that). I have no doubt of my ability to support myself cause I'm not picky about jobs (now I sound like a hooker, great). What I meant was, I don't have the extra cash lying around at the minute, and I thought it was funny that NU thinks I do

A hooker that fishes for compliments. Nice.
I'm living abroad and volunteering with an NGO and... just being here for a few months makes me realize just how long two years is!! But I feel you re: lack of funds.

Ahahahaha love it.
On a semi-related note, I have a picture of what all of you are like in real life (Bumi, I imagine you as green, obviously) and it's going to be strange when I meet all of you and you don't look like/sound like/aren't the same gender as I've imagined. It will be like the first time I saw a Harry Potter film and was shocked that Rupert Grint looked nothing like the Ron Weasley in my head.

Do any of you the current students live in or know about the Chicagoan? I'll be living there but I haven't seen it (my roommates checked it out) and am interested in people's thoughts.

This is true. I am almost entirely un-cloudlike. Homestyle28 does not look like a 1-year-old (although I suspect Homestyle Jr does), and Bumi only looks a little like a green cartoon wizard or whatever that thing is
Comiserate with me, my NU friends: I just got some MRI results back and what they thought was a minor MCL sprain is actually a partial MCL tear + bone contusions to the kneecap and femur. FML (I hurt it playing hockey at a tournament in Canada 2 weeks ago, and I've been walking on it and everything. Apparently I shouldn't have been.)

I do know what the back of Bumi's head looks like as Rinkrat pointed it out to me! The wife got a job offer this week which means we can figure out our living situation finally! We're 98% sure we're staying in Chicago (esp as she says she'll gut me like a fish if I make her move again) so we're planning on buying a modest house a few miles out and I'll commute in. Huzzah for frenzied house shopping!

Anyone wanna share a 2bd/3bd in streeterville? Is there a better forum or something to look for roommates?

Looking out around Berwyn, it's a working class neighborhood with affordable prices and lower property taxes. Also serviced by both the El and Metra

Does anyone know if the 66 is more of a sit and ride or a stand and ride kind of bus?

That's going to be quite a commute. But you can get some epic Mexican food in Berwyn.

LOL. Typo...
Eugenia, you really don't mind taking a bus to school every day? And if it's before 9, do you just plan on staying on campus the entire day... or what? I'm just curious because I've been debating whether to live near campus or not.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
