I had assumed most people lived in neighboring areas with cheaper rent, except for wealthy people who aren't concerned with price. But I was really surprised with how many people (almost every current student I talked to at ASW) said that most people without families live in Streeterville for 1L year.bjsesq wrote:River West. The 66 runs all night and drops me off a block from my place. I could never live in Streeterville. It's too busy, too packed, and way too friggin expensive.Flips88 wrote:Do you live in Streeterville or farther from school?
Is it just because they don't know better coming in, or are there any benefits besides the short commute? Is it valuable to live in a relatively concentrated population of fellow students? Is 1L such a shock to the system that eliminating the commute is worth more than just the 20-30 minutes you save?
I don't care so much about nightlife, but I would definitely not mind being able to walk to campus.
