A couple of us incoming 1Ls are planning on meeting at Alivia's in downtown Durham tomorrow night at 8 o'clock. It's a pretty chill restaurant/bar with outdoor seating. If you guys are in town/don't have plans, come out for an hour or so and have a couple drinks. There may be post about this meet-up on the Facebook page too, so keep an eye out for that.

Looking forward to meeting some of you guys! Feel free to PM me if any of you want my cell/email.

Disclaimer: I don't look much like Bob Ross...I hope. So don't be on the lookout for a 'fro.

Already have plans, but I'll try to drop by if I can (and I'll have another almost-1L with me). I'll be the guy drunkenly yelling about "happy trees" and asking for Bob Ross.

I'm an almost 3L, so I won't crash your party. But if you guys do anything else in the next few days, let me know. I'm bored.

Beach, are you here? If so, identify yourself.

yessir, I was wearing the salmon-colored polo (came with three other people and made an awkward introduction). I don't think I talked to you (figured you were one of the two guys at the other end of the table), but send me a PM or hit me up on facebook. We're probably gonna go bowling tomorrow night, and we're thinking about an Alexan Garrett BBQ sometime next week.

Hey All,
Nearly-1L lately arrived in Durham. I've gone an application cycle and a year's deferral without joining TLS, but tomorrow's Red Sox-Yankees matchup and my lack of a television have combined to force my hand. Anyone inclined to get a few drinks and catch the game someplace? Eight o'clock start.

So... fuck me sideways with this economy. I think I'm just gonna use my student loan money to invest in gold and/or move to Barbados.

Also, Alexan Garrett is having a concert Thursday night. Some of us were talking about possibly doing a BBQ and enjoying the music (and alcohol). Still working out the details, but look for somethin to pop up in the fb group, too.

Since when is August 11th still not early August? Starting to have irrational fears that everyone else has gotten a class schedule and that they just forgot me.

Yeah, this is starting to get ridiculous.

Also (for anyone who wants to come): BBQ/pool party at Alexan Garrett tonight. It starts at 7, but I'll probably be there earlier. BYOB (there's a gas station right down the street if you need to re-supply). Hope to see you all there.

How do you know which study aids/outlines to buy? The booklist doesn't seem to have suggestions for most of the classes.

Schedules are up!

I'm not sure which section I am (either 1 or 2, I think), but here's what I got:

Civpro (Jones)
Contracts (Richman)
Property (Wiener)

Anyone else? And if there are any 2Ls/3Ls hanging around, any thoughts of the profs?

It is Section 3 after looking at the schedule. And I actually just asked in the "Discuss Your School" forum regarding any type of TLS consensus for the Duke Law profs. Any and all input on all the profs would be appreciated.

Section 4 FTW.

Con Law (Blocher)
Torts (Coleman)

Haha that's what I've been told.

Question: Should we bring laptops to orientation? Any need for them?

Besides classes, is everyone done reading A Civil Action? I am about a 100 pages away from polishing it off then it is on to the other readings for LEAD week.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
