Absolutely not. There will be plenty more bonding sessions I have a feeling. I'm trying to remember... are you west coast? Meaning still doing productive things while everyone else is sitting around their computer?
Haha YES! It's funny because I'm still in class/working when everyone is on, and then when I do get on everyone is off because they're sleeping/partying. There's definitely a point every night when I keep refreshing and there's no new posts for long periods of time. Hooray procrastination!

And I am SOOOOOO down for an LA meetup! There are quite a few of us it seems.
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS! Also I am kind of sad about leaving LA. I vowed never to move back to the east coast after graduating from college, and I really got to love this place. But I mean I can deal...

This is me too... except I'm in the midwest... which really just means I stay up wayyyy too late.
Haha yeah I get a couple hours less sleep per night now than I used to because it takes me so much longer to get my work done now...don't know why. :P

And @chasgoose I'm not an LA original, so fortunately I will only be missing the weather.

I'm not an LA original, but I did grow up in Phoenix, AZ. I was born in Connecticut, but moved to AZ when I was 8. So thus, do not deal with winter AT ALL. I just think there is a lot to love about LA and I think NYC is not all it's cracked up to be. That said, NYU seems to be all it's cracked up to be.

Born and raised in LA. The weather will be a ridiculous transition.

Edit: Just created a TLS/NYU group on FB if anybody is interested.

UGH it's the WORST. Went to Yale and thought I was going to DIE the first winter. Once I lost feeling in my legs on the 10 minute walk to class (which coincidentally was by YLS, located in a giant freezing wind tunnel on the Yale campus).

I like the FB group. And it's 2:25 and I don't know why I'm not in bed... I need to stop doing this.

If it makes you feel better I am just up on TLS/watching South Park on Netflix because my cable is being weird. Granted it's still only 12:30 and I only have to tutor someone in AP US History tomorrow...

I had to get up early to finish some stuff before I go to class because I wasn't exactly staying on track last night.

Have any of you guys looked at or heard from anyone about what the low-rise housing buildings are like (Macdougal and Sullivan Street) - they're much cheaper than the other options, but I'm nervous because there aren't really photos for them like there are for the other buildings.

There's photos for McD somewhere on the website. Also, I looked at mc'd at asw last week (not mercer) and they didn't seem too small...but then again I'm use to living in a small room at this point. I think a lot of it depends on what apartment layout you get. If space is an issue for you and you can't risk it, do mercer... apparently its much bigger.

Less concerned about the size than about whether they're rundown or have other issues. But if you thought they were OK, that's great to hear.

Also, have ask, because it's the one housing thing I'm excited about - do the fireplaces actually work?

eep so i just sent my email confirming that im a finalist for the penn toll scholarship to nyu.. since i have to decide within 48 hours if i get the toll, and my nyu scholly expires on monday, i figured i should at least try. i said that if nyu gives me a scholarship that can compete with the toll i will withdraw from penn and enroll at nyu. was this dumb? too late now anyway!

Seems like a good thing to do to me since it sounds like it's true. The only time that'd be bad is if you are lying about the withdrawal. Come to the dark side mcweanis!! :D

Do it. NYU is the only credited response! Make them cough up some dough.

Ok I'm officially coming to NYU and couldn't be happier! The Dean's Scholarship vs. Columbia's $0 made the decision easy. Gut instinct already said NYU given my commitment to public interest and the amazing admitted student days. I'm excited we're all going to be classmates!

I'd assume so. I did this yesterday. I sent an email with scanned PDFs of two offers a week ago, then got another offer from a different school yesterday. I just copied the body of the first email and up top I wrote "Pursuant to the email below, I am attaching another offer that I was recently awarded for your consideration..."

I thought you were just asking for an extension because of the toll? I wouldn't consider that an appeal.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
