Set up a gmail filter so lawannounce skips your inbox and goes straight to its own folder. That makes it so much more manageable, you can just deal with random law school stuff at your leisure. It is easy to be tempted into buying all new books but in many cases it is a huge waste of money.Lisi wrote:I know we should be buying used books, but is anyone finding the lawanounce emails totally overwhelming? Well, some of us tried to figure it out when classes were just released, but I haven't checked with anyone to see if this is at all accurate:canes wrote:Is there any way to determine, based on our section, who we'll have for classes next quarter? I really wanna know who I have for property

Is anyone else having issues getting the Buss civ pro casebook? It's backordered through the school and the isbn that's listed isn't showing up anywhere else.

Yeah I ordered the Buss casebook on Friday and have yet to hear anything from the bookstore. It does look like the law library has at least one copy in the reserve room, so worst case scenario, we'll all be huddling around the communal copy in D'Angelo for a week or however long it takes the bookstore to fulfill our orders.

That "casebook" isn't really a casebook. It is material from a few different textbooks that Buss has compiled into one packet, so you won't be able to get it from anywhere but the bookstore or 2Ls who had Buss last year.Iloveyaourt wrote:Is anyone else having issues getting the Buss civ pro casebook? If you are not in Property this quarter then you have Helmholz. Tomorrow at orientation you'll get a planner with all your professors for the year.canes wrote:Is there any way to determine, based on our section, who we'll have for classes next quarter? I really wanna know who I have for property

Your first day of orientation is International Talk Like a Pirate Day! I hope you all act accordingly.

I was wondering about this. The title of "welcome breakfast" makes it sound like a half-networking-half-breakfast-damn-you-if-you-don't kind of deal, but part of me really doesn't want to get there an hour and 15 minutes early for a bagel. When is everyone going?d34dluk3 wrote:Just realized that if we don't want breakfast we don't have to be there until 9ish. I like that number much better.

Not sure, I hope there's more than bagels :3 Not sure if breakfast of any kind is worth waking up so early for though. I set my alarm for 7:30.

Quick question: to those who opted to live in Regents and got the 2-bedroom with a roommate, did you guys find it easy to find roommates at ASW or on the Chicago facebook group?

Re: Chicago Class of 2014
Lots and lots of people post about it on the facebook group. Not sure how many roommate connections were formed at ASW since not everyone's decided by then, but it's really easy to find a roommate in the facebook group (seems to be how most people connected).fate12 wrote:Quick question: to those who opted to live in Regents and got the 2-bedroom with a roommate, did you guys find it easy to find roommates at ASW or on the Chicago facebook group?

Found this elsewhere. Thought it was appropriate.
