Getting ready to send my deposit! I already live in Boston. If there are any other Future BU Law Students/Current Bostonians, anyone interested in summer meet ups?

Sent in deposit today. Do we get a confirmation if/when they receive it?
Wanted to wait to hear from all my schools before I sent in $300 but...I guess not.

I'm also a future BU Law/current Bostonian. I'd be interested in a meet up as well.

I'm not a Bostonian, but I'll be in and out of Boston looking for a place, moving and whatnot, so keep me posted and if I'm in town I'd be down!

I'm 99% sure that you have to mail the deposit... it has to be postmarked by today, so get that out ASAP!

eta: I think aliarrow linked to a pdf of the deposit form in the BU 2011 applicants thread.

How quickly did people receive the confirmation email of receipt?
I sent mine certified on Wednesday from Boston, but got nothing back from BU in terms of confirmation...

I sent mine via regular mail on Monday (not certified, in hindsight that was a DUMB move but in my defense I've had a horrible flu this week
) and got a confirmation email yesterday.

I sent mine via regular mail from DC on tuesday and got a confirmation yesterday. Don't worry Krad, mine wasn't certified either. We just like living on the edge, that's all!

I guess I still generally trust the USPS, even if it is slowly dying out!

Question: Is anyone looking to try to live solo for 1L? I'm going back and forth, primarily due to studio housing costs in Boston

My SO will be following me after 1L (we currently live together and he has to finish his surgical residency here in Denver), so I've got 2L/3L on lock. I'm not sure what I will be doing... I haven't lived with roommates (other than him) in a few years now.

BU Class of 2014 off to a great start!krad wrote:I guess that means evan and I will be as well...

I'm struggling with this now. I wanted to live alone originally, but like you said, the studio costs will likely cause me to do a two bedroom.Question: Is anyone looking to try to live solo for 1L? I'm going back and forth, primarily due to studio housing costs in Boston.

Re: BU Class of 2014
I'm looking to live solo, but studios seem to cost way more than living with someone in a 2 bedroom. The thing I worry about is paying more to live alone and then maybe feeling a little isolated. I just worry even more about ending up with a roomie that I dont get along with so there are pros and cons to both situations I guess.krad wrote: Question: Is anyone looking to try to live solo for 1L? Does anyone know how quickly BU-owned apts fill up? I feel like I should rush to get one right now but I'd like some more time to figure things out, maybe find a place off-campus, decisions, decisions...

I'm not sure about the university-owned stuff... I have a cat so I'm looking off-campus.

Yes, I looked into them for a brief second, on the off chance that they'd allow a cat (false hope I know). Let me see if I can find the link...
