hi all! i thought i would drop by and introduce myself since i will also be joining you at chicago in the fall, and judging by this thread there are quite a few of us on TLS!

i was accepted to the class of 2013 (hence all the posts from last application cycle) and deferred. I live in NYC and will be moving to Chi with fiance and cat in tow.

what? noooo, i don't have any of those at the ready. and they're definitely not instagrammed. that would be weird.

(when i got engaged, a friend said 'now you can start doing all the cat-lady stuff you want!' so i did.)

Re: The book club. I'd be all for it, though I don't think anyone will want to read the books I like to read. The Believers book looks interesting, though.

I don't know if this would be a good book clubby book, but I'm interested in reading Tina Fey's new book, Bossypants (bet you didn't see that one coming...).

I've also heard that Colum McCann's book, Let the Great World Spin is quite good.

And, despite being an English teacher, I have sadly never read any of Toni Morrison's books, so I'd be interested in that.

Finally, I've already read this one, but if you haven't read The Believers by Zoe Heller, you should. It's really great. Here's an NPR piece about it: http://www.npr.org/templates/story/stor ... =127295636

Any other suggestions?

Edit: Oh, and if you haven't read The Hunger Games series, you totally should. The series is geared toward teens, but all three books are really fun reads (though the first one is the best by far).

Bossypants was, not surprisingly, excellent. I'm reading Eating Animals by Jonathan Safran Foer now. I love books and am trying to read all the fun books I can between now and September!

I def want to read Bossypants this summer. And DEFINITELY READ THE HUNGER GAMES!! I was reading those during Chi ASW and those books are impossible to put down!

We don't get them until June(?) sometime. Someone answered it when I asked in the questions thread I think. I plan on moving up September 1!

I think we're moving in Mid-August. i want to get to know the area before everything starts up, and my SO is a 2L and has OCI. so if anyone is going to be in town early, let me know because i'll be down to hang out!
