Hey April ASD attendees,
Hope everyone is having a good time.
Did they mention anything new about when we would receive the financial aid package?

Re: CU - Boulder class of 2014
Congrats upfish!
Let's see, my thoughts on the ASD: I really liked it! Many of the people I met (including the TLSers haha) were people with whom I could see myself being friends/future colleagues. The school is very, very laid back. It stuck me as being laid back to a point where some students almost seemed not to care, though I think this is a facade. I met quite a few other people from CA (a few from UCLA even woo!), and many people would be coming from other parts of the country from what I could tell. I do wonder if many CO residents skip the ASD, though. The atmosphere is very collegial. The building is fantastic (I didn't tour when I visited a few weeks ago, so I did enjoy that)! More than one person talked to CU Law's strength in placing students into CO clerkships, which is something of interest to me. The administration made me feel welcome, and one person knew who I was on paper without having met me (which was exciting haha).
Two criticisms would be: 1. None of the 3Ls on the current student panel had jobs lined up. One of the students seemed quite apathetic about things. (I did like how they used very honest students that volunteered instead of handpicking the people with top opportunities/backgrounds/etc., but it also made me wonder what the top 3Ls are doing after graduation). 2. The CDO (Career Dev Office) presentation focused more on asking students to come use the office than elaborating on what resources were available. They did talk quite often (and in other presentations) about how Colorado employers come first to CU Law with opportunities, though!
Overall it was a great day (and night! haha) and I could definitely see myself there for three years!
eta: I commented about my criticisms on the post-visit survey, so I feel comfortable mentioning them here as well.

We learned that people at CU aren't really competitive with each other.

How was the rest of your stay in Boulder? Were you still in town yesterday for the rogue snow?Maury Levy wrote:We learned that people at CU aren't really competitive with each other.
Ohhhh yeah, for the others ITT: It randomly snowed for a solid part of the day yesterday (a little stuck on the ground but it's going to melt today) after being warm enough for me to lay out at my pool on Saturday. Such is Colorado!
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
