Too cheesy? Any other suggestions to incorporate rigor without it being too much?

Alright, we'll see how much support it gathers amongst the rest of the thread and then I will take it to the FB group.
Edit: Ya'll have to comment on the post so I don't look like the only weirdo that wants a shirt...don't leave me hanging

Re: Chicago Class of 2014
I would like to put in a vote for an alternate white lettering/colored or black shirt option, as someone who looks like death warmed over in grey and white. Though, I'll likely look like that anyway in 1L, so maybe I should try to completel the look...

Like this JFo? The maroon is a little dark, but I think it still works.

I like how we decided on a shirt, wanted to bring it to FB, but didnt want to outselves, so nominated someone to do, which he's doing. Then discussing commenting on said post. So secret society of us.

what happened to the "How can I be more rigorous today?" quote? I really liked that...
Btw...I can also out myself on FB too if rbarcelo wants...don't really care about anonymity either (i.e. I have <100 posts)

Re: Chicago Class of 2014
I always thought it would be appropriate to borrow our U Chicago law class slogan/anthem from the King...
Abridged:
"As the snow flies
On a cold and gray Chicago mornin'
A poor little baby [0L] is born
In the ghetto
And his mama cries..."
-Elvis circa 1970 commenting on Chicago Law '14
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Ox1Tore9nw
Full version:
As the snow flies
On a cold and gray Chicago mornin'
A poor little baby [0L] is born
In the ghetto
And his mama cries
'cause if there's one thing that she don't need
it's another [tuition bill to pay]
In the ghetto
In the ghetto
People, don't you understand
the [0L] needs a helping hand
or he'll grow to be an angry young man some day
Take a look at you and me,
are we too blind to see,
do we simply turn our heads
and look the other way
Well the world turns
and a hungry little boy with a runny nose
[is locked in the stacks] as the cold wind blows
In the ghetto
In the ghetto
And his hunger burns
so he starts to roam the streets at night
and he learns how to steal
and he learns how to fight
In the ghetto
in the ghetto
Then one night in desperation
the [rigor pushes him too far]
He buys a gun, steals a car,
tries to run, but he don't get far
And his mama cries
As a crowd gathers 'round an angry young man
face down on the street with a gun in his hand
In the ghetto
As her young man dies,
on a cold and gray Chicago mornin',
another little baby [0L] is born
In the ghetto
And his mama cries"
That, of course, is the minimalist version. I'm sure you all can come up with even better variants on the King's commentary.

Livin' at the Flamingo,
Boys blowin' up OneNote, note,
Curve-stomping, pulling up with our scholies,
Readin' up on our Pozzie,
Trying to live life rigorously...
Be the top
Gunners study your whole life, tonight
Notes you'll write, till you see the sunlight

But the RIGOR don't stop no

Ain't got no money in my pocket, but I'm just a first-year!
And soon, the firms are linin' up 'cause they hear we got vigor,
But we kick 'em to the curb unless their partners love rigor,

Boys tryin' to get in courts, courts,
Gonna break my year up into fourths, fourths

I'm don't have very strong feelings about this, but since we are going to THE University of Chicago: THE Law School, should we consider THE Class of 2014?rbarcelo9 wrote:Too cheesy? Any other suggestions to incorporate rigor without it being too much?

Crimson and maroon are basically the same color, right? Are you telling me you are kicking me out of this thread?!?
More importantly, I just wanted to stir the pot on that debate and back up Dany. I have been to the land of pocket tees (the fratty South).

NEVER! I want you to stay as long as possible. Even though you broke up with Chicago, I know you two can still remain friends.Calla Lily wrote:Crimson and maroon are basically the same color, right? Are you telling me you are kicking me out of this thread?!?![]()

Also, I am actually pretty surprised by the size of the SEC contingent that is coming to Chicago. I wasn't expecting it.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
