Is anyone else still waiting on another school? Sent my Wake deposit in on 4/1, still waiting on SMU but am very excited about WFU when I get my inevitable waitlist at SMU

Re: Wake Forest University School of Law 2014
I am sort of still considering IUB. I really do prefer Wake, but I wanted just a little more $ (I know, I know! I am a selfish jerk. So sue me.... Well, maybe I shouldn't say that.)
But anyway, it looks like they are pretty serious about not having any additional $ to redistribute. Hopefully they will release the info on Smith/Shaver today and then I can face the facts.

I am riding byu waitlist. I am worried about affording wake, even with my scholly. Smith/shaver would make me cry like a tweener at a bieber concert. Other than that, I should be getting my waitlist notice from iub any day now. And that is it.

the e-mail says "Your essay will be read by our scholarship committee and a winner will be selected prior to April 15th, 2011"
Although it doesn't say it will be awarded/sent out by the 15th, just that they would select the winner.

Smith/Shaver is coming out next week. Just confirmed with Jenny that it's not happening today. One of the committee members was unavailable. Looks like we can stop refreshing until Monday.

Ive always wondered what the admissions office does now that the seat deposits are in and there are no more decisions have to be made (save for some waitlists). Anyone have any theories?

High five a lot. That is what I would do.
Work on brochures, put together statistics, probably talk about the upcoming class and what they like and dont like and what they will do different in the future.
Or they take all of our seat deposits, cash em, turn it into change and go duck tales on it. Thats what I would do.

Stuck between a full ride at Michigan State and nothing at Wake. I am on the waitlist at Ohio State but I don't think I am too interested in heading there.

where do u wanna work?Sex Bob-Omb wrote:Stuck between a full ride at Michigan State and nothing at Wake. I am on the waitlist at Ohio State but I don't think I am too interested in heading there.
that's really the most relevant question... chances are if u go to Mich, ur gonna stay in Mich... wake has some mobility, particularly in the mid-Atlantic, but again, you'll prob be staying in the region...
I dunno-- just my two cents

I don't think anyone should pay sticker for anything outside the top 20, but if those are your options I guess Wake is your best bet in terms of employment. However, if you go to MS you don't have to stress too much because you will have little debt. Is there a better school in Michigan? If not, you would have dibs on employment in the state. It would be tough to turn down a free legal education...but I wouldn't want to live in Michigan, lol.Sex Bob-Omb wrote:Stuck between a full ride at Michigan State and nothing at Wake. I'm currently on the WL, should I send my LOCI to law-admissions@wfu.edu, or do you guys think it would be better to mail it?
