Bloomington housing is so weird. One guy who gave me a tour of an apartment yelled at me for looking for housing so late and another lady from an apartment complex seemed completely bewildered why I would be looking for housing in August so "early".

Also I just got a 30k/year scholarship at Wash U. While it makes me feel confused and slightly waver away from my decision, I also feel surprisingly emotionally attached to IU and Bloomington. It seems like such a fun place to spend 3 years...

Why does making decisions have to be so hard? :?

Similar situation! I also feel really attached already, weird.

Sent in both my commitment and deposit on a place today! :D Washington Terrace for now (I just wish it were on the other side of campus) and poolside if three people drop out of a studio *fingers crossed*. After calling every place on our list and being laughed at for still looking for a studio, I snagged the first one I found that was within a few blocks. It's only 9 months, right?

I cannot believe any realtor would laugh at someone for looking this "early"! I had several people wish me luck with finding anything with less than three bedrooms within walking distance of Maurer..

Thats the spot alright!

I just found a cheap place right by the law school for the summer and perhaps for the school year as well on Craigslist. You just have to filter through the crap

I was looking at Washington Terrace last night, actually. Was pretty close to the hotel, and that seemed fine for walking distance. I think there was only one studio left, so you might have just snagged it, damn! :) Seems so early to commit to something in August, but I remember in UG people were locking up leases in October for the following year. Gah.

Also, definitely can attest to Craigslist's utility. Every place I've found in my three/four odd years here in Nashville has been found on Craigslist. I kind of swear by it for apartments, I guess.

$525, the same as poolside. No dishwasher in my unit though. And it was definitely the last one...Canadian still has 9-10 studios for $450 and they've got an extra 70 square feet. You can check them out here:http://www.cspropertymanagement.com

Heads up that they're a mile away and next to a hospital, but supposedly the sirens arent too bad at all.

if anyone is looking for 1bd's close to the law school--check out this place http://distinctmanagement.com/lincolnParkStation.html

i'm not gonna be able to get down there to see the place before i sign the lease and the management there has been incredibly helpful with emailing me pics and whatnot. rent is $500 for grad students and its a 13 min walk (little over half a mile).

I was just starting to get super anxious after a week of not hearing back, but I received a response this morning. Give them a call. :)

Still no email, but I did give them a call. Confirmed my seat in the class as well as in Summer Start.

If any summer starters are looking for a summer sublet let me know. I have a fully furnished bedroom in a four bedroom house. The bedroom is huge and is really like its own apartment (Main sitting room with another room for the bed). PM me if you are interested. Rent is negotiable.

I'm looking for a roommate(s) for a place walking distance from campus. If anyone else is looking hit me up! (25 M / non-smoking).

I just set mine up, I had a bit of fun generating random passphrases with the little button near the bottom of that page...

Anyone else try to login to onestart or the other portals? I think the system has to reset overnight or something because my new account isn't working yet.

Yeah I did and it did not work for me either. I have not been able to access my email or anything. The passphrase is an interesting system.

My passphrase is stupid, I was hoping I would grow to like it but I want my undergrad password back already

Passwords are so much easier. I put too many words in my passphrase and I think its going to give me trouble. My signing in efficiency is going to crumble with the passphrase.

Yeah I did and it did not work for me either. I have not been able to access my email or anything. The passphrase is an interesting system.
I was able to set up my user account and passphrase, then able to reset it once I found I couldn't consistently type my old passphrase, and then set up an e-mail account and forward it to my Gmail account. But if I clicked "Email" in OneStart, it said I didn't have access. Then I got an e-mail this morning in my Gmail account (that was forwarded from my apparently unavailable @indiana.edu e-mail account) saying that my status at IU has changed and I'll only have limited access to computing resources starting next week.

It's April, I'll worry about it later :)

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
