This is exciting. You guys are talking about the first ASW right? March 10-12 or something like that? I will see you there, and can pick out a couple of cool AA bars for Saturday (though I am sure the current Mlaw students will be more than happy to!)

Anybody have any suggestions on how to ask for some scholarship money (as opposed to negotiating for more)? I have more or less "shocked that I got in" kind of numbers so I'm not really sure how to make the case that Michigan should give me a merit scholarship. I would really like to go to Michigan though and a little bit of money would really help.

It's still a little premature for me to post here - I haven't gotten the package yet. But I logged into the admitted students site this morning and I couldn't resist.

Looks like I'm a summer start based on the mail & money page. I'm a little wary of the prospect of three semesters back-to-back. But mostly I'm just freaking excited right now.

Crap. Just realized these ASW events are thursday-saturday instead of friday-sunday. Im starting a new job and already taking off 2 days for Harvard ASW. I really dont want to even arrive in Ann Arbor until friday night.

If you are seriously considering both, I think it would be worth whatever negative "repercussions" there would be with asking off at the new job. It's the next 3 years of your life...don't make a decision without all the facts, especially not out of fear of upsetting someone at a job you'll only be at for less than a year. Just my 2 cents.
