Burg, are you in 2? Because I know of at least THREE Section 2 lurkers on here. They've outed me in real life. I should have picked a trickier name....fathergoose wrote:There are always lurkers...beware the lurkersBurgstaller04 wrote:

Yep, I'm in 2. To all you 2 and 3L's out there, I do have a general question about grades. Do they tell you your actual grade (A, B, C) or your class rank or both? I realize I won't have to worry about this for 2 months.swilson215 wrote:Burg, are you in 2? Because I know of at least THREE Section 2 lurkers on here. They've outed me in real life. They'll send an email whenever they actually get around to making professors do the work of teaching that that have to do twice a year, and you'll log on to Access and see the grade. They won't release your actual class rank until graduation, but they'll release class medians around the time they release grades.
But it might be February before you get grades.

Yeah, some of the 1Ls can be THAT douchey. Thankfully ClutchCity and I are awesome enough to outweigh the not-awesome people in our section. Right?
So we don't know our percentile for sure at all until after graduation? They just post a median? I thought you had to be able to tell firms if you were in the top 25%, etc.?

Re: SMU 2014
They don't tell you your specific percentile. They tell you your GPA and release the percentile cutoffs. You can figure from there.

They'll let you know if you're in the top 25% a few days after grades are released.

Anyone have insight on when grades will be posted?
I'm not expecting anything until later this month or early February. Just hopeful that it will be earlier.

My grades flowed in over the course of around three minutes, with the lower ones appearing earlier. Fun times.squ1rtle wrote:Last year we got grades back on January 21st at around noon.

Has anyone gotten their loan money "refunded" yet? I see it on my account, but so far nothing as far as disbursement to me goes. When can we expect this?

1L's - the DAYL Judicial Internship program that Career Services sent out info about is awesome. I spent half my summer with a judge in the criminal courts, and it was a fantastic experience. You learn a ton, meet a lot attorneys, and I actually forgot that I wasn't being paid because it was so much fun.

I loved working for my judge in the civil courts. In addition to meeting attorneys, you'll also meet a lot of judges and students from other schools. Do it.

Worthless, so I heard. I wasn't driving down for it.
It's all well and good to chat up the people at Baker Botts, but if you don't have the grades, they won't hire you.
