I'll be staying Saturday night and I'll hang out with you! We could do a TLSer meet-up Saturday night, but maybe we ought to also do one earlier so nobody gets shut out. FWIW, I may be staying with a friend who grew up in AA and having him show me around, so that's one of the reasons I'm staying the extra night.Excellence = a Habit wrote:Hi people! Question about the first ASW: Are most people planning to stay the extra night (Saturday night), after the last official activities? I booked my flight to come back on Saturday evening, but it looks like a lot of people are planning to stay till Sunday. Are you guys going to... do anything fun? Uh, can I come? (JK) I'm just wondering whether it's worth changing my flight ($100 change fee - reduced fare on Sunday compared to Saturday = $58)

Thanks guys! I'm definitely thinking about switching it now. It's just so hard to eat the change fee!

You guys and R6 are actually convincing me to come visit for the first ASW. I wasn't really planning on attending either one...

Tours run until 2:30 PM, IIRC. The actual proceeding begin at 3 or 3:30. My flight gets in at 1:10 PM, so I'm planning on catching a later tour.whathojeeves wrote:Basically, yes. Hmmm...it looks like I'm going to have to take a red-eye and be there Thurs morning. I better actually look at the ASW site.sgtgrumbles wrote:Tours run until 2:30 PM, IIRC. Edit: Is anyone else renting a car at DTW or is that silly? I have no clue about the buses, beyond friends who have told me that "they suck"

This is exciting. You guys are talking about the first ASW right? March 10-12 or something like that? I will see you there, and can pick out a couple of cool AA bars for Saturday (though I am sure the current Mlaw students will be more than happy to!)absolutazn87 wrote:Dulc and I are going back Sunday morning too!Excellence = a Habit wrote:Thanks guys! I think I read somewhere the Michigan-provided housing is for students only. Can anyone confirm?sgtgrumbles wrote:Did you and your husband stay in the Michigan-provided housing during ASW? If so, did you have to make a formal request to Michigan to arrange this? My girlfriend has to miss the ASW for the program there to which she applied, so she may just come to AA with me for my ASW. I just need to know if she can stay with me or if we'll need to arrange something else.bannanagram wrote: I'd be happy to answer any job hunt/housing/life in A2 questions those with SO's may have!

I have the things from the Preview Week site open and it reads: "Because space is limited, we are unable to provide rooms for guests other than admitted students. If you wish to travel with a guest, please consult our list of alternative hotel options in order to make your own arrangements. All meals during the weekend will be provided by the Law School."wolverine2014 wrote:I think I read somewhere the Michigan-provided housing is for students only.
