Re: Wake Forest University School of Law 2014
Hey guys, welcome to Wake. I'm a current 3L and am probably at least as excited to leave as you all are to start. If any of you are currently looking for housing for the fall, check out the flyer linked below. It's where I currently live with two other roommates. There have been law students at this house for at least five years now and the landlord is very laid back and doesn't bother us at all, but is responsive when we need him. It's been a great place for the two years I've lived here and is extremely close to the law school. In fact, you can easily walk there and save the outrageous parking permit costs that Wake charges...I know several people in the neighborhood who walk to campus, including one of my roommates. Included with rent, just behind the house, there is a large deck with a hot tub and bar that is perfect for hosting social events when you have the time. If you're interested in checking out the house, call the number provided and I can arrange for you to stop by or I can put you in contact with our landlord. If you have any questions about the house or about Wake or law school in general, feel free to email me (don't know how often I'll check back here, so emailing is the way to go), at tyrebs8@wfu.edu.
Thanks for looking, congrats on your admission, and again welcome to Wake!
hopefully this link will work: http://s1087.photobucket.com/albums/j46 ... ORRENT.gif

It nice to come to the Wake thread because the UNC board is a clusterf**k. It is quite refreshing that Wake took two weeks to get a decision back while UNC has taken more than 6 months for people.

Welcome! We've moved past that BS and are on to poker, trivia, BBQ grills, and dogs.boom_cs wrote:It nice to come to the Wake thread because the UNC board is a clusterf**k. It is quite refreshing that Wake took two weeks to get a decision back while UNC has taken more than 6 months for people.

Yeah that is why this thread wins. If Wake would just give me a scholly and then that would make my decision.SteelyDan wrote:Welcome! But now I need to wait on UNC because it is so much cheaper for me as an in-state student.
Poker, Trivia, and BBQ = the first time WS has sounded fun since I moved there in 1993

Lots of apartments. By the way, I have another huge list of places I'll be checking out on Saturday. I'll take a camera this time and get some Steely reviews up Sat. evening.jdemmitt wrote:SteelyDan wrote:Welcome! We've moved past that BS and are on to poker, trivia, BBQ grills, and dogs. Whats good family? I'm 95% on Wake, sending in the deposit this week. I'm not reading the last 14 pages of this thread though, so could someone be an angel and let me know if they have already announced an official day for the HH? I'm only like 2.5 hrs away, so I'd definately come up for it. Also, I'm trying to sketch up on some roommates too. PM me for the goodies!

So... Anyone heard anothing about the Smith/Shaver Scholarship? The e-mail said we will be informed prior to 04/15, so I assume it will be today or tomorrow if they haven't already awarded it.

Just emailed Jenny and said it has not yet been decided but gave no exact date. I'd email her with that exact question because I want to know but do not want to bombard her with emailsMattThiessen wrote:So... Anyone heard anothing about the Smith/Shaver Scholarship? They will reimburse you $200 upon matriculation. I think they take it during orientation.YankeesFan wrote:Did anyone figure out if we can submit receits from ASD for reimbursement?
About the Smith/shaver scholly...Jenny said they would email once a decision was made. My guess is they will send a mass email congratulating the winner and thanking everyone who participated.

Nope, not even part of it is.

The point of seat deposits is to put your money towards tuition proving comitment to the school. Allowing refunds would defeat the purpose of deposits at any school. Although if you have a full tuition scholarship they would refund you in the fall if you attend.BEH321 wrote:Is their seat deposit refundable?

And Seton Hall just offered me Distinguished Public Interest Scholar (full tuition). Why is it that after I decide where I am going they do this to me???
If only Wake gave me 5,000 more
