Re: NYU Class of 2014
There is no "average", as the numbers can vary dramatically, but likely the numbers break down as follows:memorex wrote:Just got the AnBryce finalist email. Based on posts all over TLS, a lot of ppl did also. Does anyone know the average annual stats for how many are offered interviews, offered the scholarship, accept the scholarship, etc? Thanks.
30-36 finalists, interviewing in 3 different cities before coming to the school to meet current students, current AnBrycer scholars, etc.
8-12 AnBryce Scholarship recipients, and others who were finalists also get some pretty nice scholarships from the school even if they don't get the main AnBryce one.
In terms of acceptance, it varies. It is a pretty prestigious scholarship, and the program is absolutely incredible.
I hope that helps!

Do you have any numbers for the other big scholarships? Also, finalists interviewing in different cities...could you explain that since my travel schedule this spring is VERY congested.nyulawguy wrote:There is no "average", as the numbers can vary dramatically, but likely the numbers break down as follows:memorex wrote:Just got the AnBryce finalist email. Did anyone else get an email with the subject starting "Congratulations..."?? That's all I could see on my blackbery and my heart did a flip. Screw you, NYU Housing.

Haha. I thought the same thing. I'm hoping for IILJ though. They said it comes out in February, so I'm hoping I hear today or tomorrow!

I e-mailed NYU about the Furman Academic Scholars program and was told finalists would be notified by mid-March. I can't imagine that one is quite as popular, but just thought I would throw that out there!

That's good information. So the running list seems to be something like this:Calla Lily wrote:I e-mailed NYU about the Furman Academic Scholars program and was told finalists would be notified by mid-March. I can't imagine that one is quite as popular, but just thought I would throw that out there!
AnBryce- 2/23

Re: NYU Class of 2014
Yeah they pick 3 different cities and fly finalists out to each of them before the ASW. I'm sure it's done by vicinity, but I don't know if it's an even distribution at each city. The interview is earlier in the week (Wednesday for AnBryce), and then you travel to NYC on Thursday. I don't know how this would differ for the other schollies.swampthang wrote:Do you have any numbers for the other big scholarships? FWIW, someone here (http://www.top-law-schools.com/forums/v ... start=5175) reported an invite for the B&B yesterday.swampthang wrote:That's good information. Re: NYU Class of 2014
I just got an email for an interview to the RTK scholarship program. (And a voice mail that I can't check since I am in class). No info on specific scholarship yet.
Edit. After checking my voicemail, I apparently got my invite over the phone last Friday, but my phone ate it up. They sent the email today so they might be calling first before sending e-mails.

STILL only one TLS RTK? That seems surprising to me.

Yeah, I think it is a little strange that they called Woodhouse last Friday and no one else has heard. Sigh, I am tired of staring at my e-mail.LinzerTorte wrote:swampthang wrote:Thank you Wicked. Seriously, though, I know TLS isn't a representative sample, but does ANYONE else know ANYONE who has gotten an RTK offer? It's one whole week later if Woodhouse got a call on Friday. That's weird, right?

Maybe TLS self-selects for BIGLAW GUNNER$$$ so there are no PI folks on here.LinzerTorte wrote:Sure!ahduth wrote:You guys should post in this thread, just so I can pretend people are hearing about scholarships.

Yeah. I think the options are:LinzerTorte wrote: Seriously, though, I know TLS isn't a representative sample, but does ANYONE else know ANYONE who has gotten an RTK offer? It's one whole week later if Woodhouse got a call on Friday. That's weird, right?
1. Woodhouse was confused by the acronyms and got an invitation to another scholarship.
2. Woodhouse is a flame.
3. After giving Woodhouse an invite, the committee decided to go on a week+ vacation.
4. All of the invites have gone out, and the rest of us on TLS who applied to RTK suck.

If it helps, I could PM excerpts from the e-mail. Detailed information isn't going out until late March so there's plenty of time still.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
