Question: what is "Legislative Monday" and why the hell is it on a Wednesday?

Wow, I actually think I might know this. I think it is to make up for an extra Monday's worth of classes. Since we don't ever miss a Wednesday, and we effectively miss 2 Mondays, and 1 Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday.ahduth wrote:Question: what is "Legislative Monday" and why the hell is it on a Wednesday?

Yes that's what it is...I would think "deemed monday" or "monday schedule" would be a more intuitive term. Last year, everybody seemed to forget about it though, including professors, so that day can get a bit screwy.birdlaw117 wrote:Wow, I actually think I might know this. Ah, so it's not a day off when we can just sit around and watch C-SPAN. Bummer.straxen wrote:Yes that's what it is...I would think "deemed monday" or "monday schedule" would be a more intuitive term. Re: NYU Class of 2014
I'm having a financial aid issue and I thought maybe you smarties could help me figure out where I went wrong. Here's the situation:
- I have my Fafsa updated
- I have both my intent and final confirmation to enroll in
- I have my albert access
- I have received my award letter
However, Albert will not let me accept my awards. I have talked to financial aid and they say I must be enrolled in order to accept. I have talked to admissions and they say we will be enrolled come orientation. However, it seems tuition and loans are due long before that.
I feel I am missing some major information. Due to an address screw up, I have never received the last packet that was sent out. I hope it will get here before I have to leave for NYC.
It seems you guys are able to access yours. Where did I go wrong? Am I missing something important about the aid process in the packet?
Thanks

Re: NYU Class of 2014
When you get into Albert, are you showing as registered for any classes? You should have something like "Law Section 1 (11642)" or something like that listed - it sounds like either that's not being recognized or it's was never applied to your account.

Re: NYU Class of 2014
It says I'm not registered for any classes. When I called admissions about that, they said that the 1ls are registered at orientation.
I called admissions and asked about this. I guess it is a dummy registration in anticipation of next week but they will have the real registration done before the 10th and then I can do my loans. Thanks for the info, just knowing a little more has made me feel more comfortable.
