Re: NYU Class of 2014
Finally just got around to accepting my loans. I hate the idea of taking out loans. I didn't have to take any out for UG and this just kills me. Also, now I have to figure out what I'm supposed to do with this whole payment/print out and mail thing, since they were kind enough to not send me any of those materials.

All you have to do is print out your bill/account balance or whatever on Esuite and write "loans pending" on the top of it

My question is: if we have our own health insurance, can we decline NYUs?

Re: NYU Class of 2014
I had the link for opt-out somewhere (and it's mighty convenient that the cost is pretty close to the $1700 we need to worry about for LRAP). Let me see if I can try to find it.thecilent wrote:My question is: if we have our own health insurance, can we decline NYUs?

more of a mohegan fan but foxwoods is fine by meLudacrispat26 wrote:I'm in too. Also, if there are any more serious players, I'd be down to make some trips to Foxwoods/AC. I went to undergrad in Boston, and trips to New Hampshire Poker Rooms/Foxwoods were routine. Might scare off some casual players, but if anyone's interested, let me know.thecilent wrote:Exactlyyy. hey quick question for all you people planning on doing tax... is tax law the same thing as tax evasion except that you're doing it 'legally'?

Re: NYU Class of 2014
The old saying is wealthy people "avoid" and poor people "evade." Meaning, tax avoidance is using the tax code and planning how to have the least amount of tax liability.glitched wrote:hey quick question for all you people planning on doing tax... is tax law the same thing as tax evasion except that you're doing it 'legally'?

We don't need any dress clothes for orientation at all do we? It sounded like some schools were having pictures taken or some such. I just need to figure out when to make sure my suits are in New York...

You mean you're not wearing your suit to our very first LRW class?

Hopefully nothing but shorts and t-shirts until October. However much I might like for the weather to cool off right now... I'll be wanting it to warm up again come autumn.spacepenguin wrote:ahduth wrote:We don't need any dress clothes for orientation at all do we? Who exactly do I need to have "take me seriously"? Except for maybe the waiters at Indian joints when I tell them, "yes, I really do want it spicy."TheKingintheNorth wrote:i read one of the student bloggers advice to 1Ls that people will take you more seriously if you dont "dress like an undergrad and consider dressing business casual" and my eyes are still rolling
