I would rather live with a roommate. The apartments/houses are less expensive if you live with 2-3 people.rk90 wrote:Btw has anyone thought about roommates... With a few exceptions, the nicer places I find tend to all be of the 2-3 bedroom variety. And would be nice to be able to split utils.

I posted this on the group fb page as well, but in case some of you aren't on it... The SLD event starts at 6:00 and is at a restaurant across the street from the law school. I was thinking we could all meet at Nick's (about a block away) around 7:00 for our little TLS shindig.rk90 wrote:One of the 1Ls had mentioned Nick's more as an un-official get together... The 1Ls had done the same when his class visited. Said they wanted to keep the tradition going. Don't know how that fits with the 'social event' though. Thought that was a bit vague in what was a pretty detailed schedule. Could be what they meant.RooksWS6 wrote:That sucks! As far as the TLS get together, I don't think any decisions have been made. I was the one who mentioned Nick's but it's pure speculation. I heard that is where the SLD "social event" was held last year, so figured it would be an easy spot to meet up.

Maybe a little later would work better so we could go change and what not after the SLD event at 6.RooksWS6 wrote:I posted this on the group fb page as well, but in case some of you aren't on it... Does anyone know if IUB has an online viewbook? Or, has anyone ever requested and received a physical viewbook? Who knows, maybe neither one of them exist?

I don't think there is a specific end time for the SLD event. I believe it is being put on by SBA, so maybe we can get more info from some of the current students that post here. And, yeah, I hadn't even thought about time to change etc. Later would definitely be better.

Bringing the S.O. who will hopefully (fingers crossed) be going to school also but at Indianapolis. We'll see what happens. No kids, couldn't even imagine that work load PLUS law school. Kudos to all those parents out there.kcfella wrote:So who is coming to school with a S.O. or with kids?

Coming with my fiancee (will be husband then) in August. No smarter way to furnish your new place in a new town than by letting your family do it for free as wedding gifts. He's a personal trainer, not that any of us are going to have time or money for something as frivolous as fitness.

I am looking for a roomate to rent either a 2 or 3 bedroom house or apartment. I figure with 1l workload social activities will be somewhat limited would rather not compound that by living alone too plus splitting costs on rent and utilities would be nice. PM me if anyone is interested.
P.S. I am a huge sports fan and I will bring the 55 inch big screen plus the 110 inch projector screen to watch the games on haha

15ish people committed today, we are now over half full per Dani's speech at the end of the SLD... Overall everyone here was pretty cool, and Btown is super fun. I'm now sitting at Nicks upstairs drinking a beer by myself trying to figure out where people are at tonight...

Lol today was fun...just got done eating gyros at the trojan horse..and mother bear's pizza was excellent when I had it yesterday. Today was nice, the alumni who came in were very social and informative. The one successful female lawyer actuallythrew the f bomb when talking bout her fellings toward gunners in her graduating class. I felt like tht is about dwn to earth and as real as one could be. Some kids seemed socially akward, others looked like they have not seen the sun in years. Some kids went out of their way to answer questions that could have been said in 5 or fewer words, but they liked hearing themselves talk or tryind to sound as if they are well informed. I literally spitout my water at the mock class when the professor recommended reading getting to maybe and a chick pulled a copy of it out of her bag. Lol, either gunner or just ....yeah pretty damn sad. Most student orgs went out of their way to explain who they r and wht they do beyond what a website can do. Some really intelligent and nice potential classmates I hope to join come next year. Library is large...and the campus and btown are gorgeous, clean, and different from what most college towns offer.

Damn. I was hoping IU would have less gunners than normal, with no stipulations (relatively speaking) on the schollies. Oh well.
Sounds like fun. Bummed that I missed out.

Hilariously true I had many of the same thoughts.. Like when the girl said persecute instead of prosecute in re to the KKK case. I want to be your friend.
