Re: Chicago Class of 2014
Well just by glancing over them none really stand out as one I must attend. However, I have no interest in "Federal Regulation of Securities" or "International Trade Law" so I was leaning more towards "Health Law" or "Evidence".

There is a thread where this years 1Ls reviewed the profs from their classes and give advice: http://www.top-law-schools.com/forums/v ... 4&t=124678
The only review concerning one of the possible classes was this, "Malani was very confusing and condescending. His syllabus had no set dates, and he ended up rushing some concepts while beating a dead horse with others."
Also, to make us even more excited/Dany more upset:
"Strahilevitz covered the basic property curriculum much better than Helmholz, and was loved by basically everyone."

Re: Chicago Class of 2014
last time i got through it under 30 mins...it's about size of oakland airport (i dunno if that helps) I dunno if i would bus tho if it takes an hour, that would be pushing it too close. It's not that far from UChi if you wanna taxi though, you will definitely make it that way.JFo wrote:Anyone know about the busy-ness?trudat15 wrote:How far is midway?JFo wrote:Do you all think I can book it out of that class at 12:00 and still make my 1:43 flight out of Midway? I want it to be true...
I've never been to midway, but I think it depends entirely on the crappiness of the airport.
If it's extremely busy like LAX, then no, but if it's anything like LAX's brothers, Long Beach or Burbank, I think you should be set if you can get there by 1.
Looking at bus times, I can get there in an hour no matter when I leave, but I don't want to offend His Awesomeness by leaving early.

Hmm, the only one I'm not really interested is international trade law, so i'll probably go to one of the other three.Evidence with Professor Geoffrey Stone (Room II)
Federal Regulation of Securities with Professor Tom Miles (Room IV)
Health Law with Professor Anup Malani (Room I)
International Trade Law with Professor Anu Bradford (Room III)

Same. Leaning towards Securities because Thomas Miles is very interesting for law & economics.JFo wrote:I'm going with either Securities or Health.

Is it? It seems like it's only cheaper for a studio...Muenchen wrote:Though Algonquin is literally right next to Regents, so based on the internet searching that seems like my best pick so I can still be involved but also have some space. I'll have to take a tour though... It's also cheaper.

Comparing 1br to 1br, it depends on certain amenities whether one is cheaper. For studios, which is what I'll be getting, Algonquin is demonstrably cheaper for me.Saul Goodman wrote:Is it? Did someone post the ASW schedule? I can't find it.Muenchen wrote:*Throws up the bat signal to call Emma., Cali, or JGG*alphamoose wrote:I haven't thought about it, should I ask the Chi 1L thread which one they recommend?rbarcelo9 wrote:Which class are you guys thinking of sitting in on?
Anyway, Miles is great. I sat in on his class last year. (He's the same professor that the Day in the Life students sat in earlier this year).
I have no idea about Malani, Bradford, or Stone. Although, I would probably go to Stone because he's known as a bit of a superstar.
