Where's everyone thinking about living next year?

University-owned housing seems to get bad reviews so... not there.

Regents looks really nice so i'm leaning there, but it's the only option i've checked out. Does anyone know if Algonquin has a website I can browse?

Muenchen, have you come across what the laundry situation is at regents? I can't find it anywhere and I know you've done a bunch of research.

Is anyone thinking of living anywhere but Hyde Park for 1L?

Regents, Algonquin, and Windmere all have on-site laundry, though I assume it's coin-operated

And I think Hyde Park is the only place I'd consider as a 1L, maybe expand after that... Have you looked at places more downtown?

Not really.. Ideally I would stay in the same place for three years but I would like to do regents 1L for the ease of meeting people/coming back from the library at night (I am small and defenseless ) /ect.

Yeah, I know what you mean, I really do not like moving so I'm trying to pick the best place. But that actually makes me leery of Regents, not only because I'm afraid of a dorm atmosphere but also of being 3L living around a bunch of younger kids in 2 years.

Though Algonquin is literally right next to Regents, so based on the internet searching that seems like my best pick so I can still be involved but also have some space. I'll have to take a tour though... It's also cheaper.

But yeah, if I do regents I definitely won't be staying all three years. I just hate moving.

I've actually just been working on my "Don't sit next to me on the train" stare. It's super effective against people going to the airport and men who smell like onions and/or feet. Right now, I'm working my way through bag ladies who say "That's enough now, Jesus," to the voice in their heads. By the time September rolls around, my goal is to be able to kill at a glance.

I was looking at the Algonquin (though their website is down), but I'm not sure how they feel about large dogs (larger than 40 pounds). I def. want to live in Hyde Park. I've already got some friends in Chicago (one goes to UChi for PHD), so I've been asking if they know any places.
