Alright, I'm done waffling - I'm picking Wake.

I'd been going back and forth between WFU (decent scholly) and George Mason (out of state sticker). GMU said there was a possibility of some scholarship money opening up, but I still haven't heard anything. Their seat deposit date is creeping up (4/15), and the deposit is $750! I can't justify that. I do want to be in DC ultimately, but the tuition just isn't worth it to go to school up there.

I was also still waiting on an admissions decision to UNC, but I've given up on them. Wake is actually cheaper for me than in-state tuition at UNC, the facilities are nicer, the classes are smaller, and people are friendlier. Carolina - you had your chance and you blew it.

So that's that. I look forward to meeting you all soon! (house hunt, perhaps?)

And I liked Wake better for all the reasons you said. I'm really glad with my decision. Besides, I'd rather go someplace that treats me like they want me.

Same here. I actually got into UNC, but chose Wake for various reasons -- all of yours included. I don't think you can really go wrong with either, but I'd say you made a very good decision.

Ok, so I have been snooping around and posting here and there throughout my cycle, but I am now 100% on board at Wake, so I figured I had better post in this forum and officially join the FB group. YAY!

I have only marginally been researching apartments and not really doing much work in that aspect, am I going to be having a problem finding a place if I am just trying to get in at one of the Crowne complexes or something along those lines? I think I am going to get a 1 bedroom my first year, at least that is my plan.

And I am still hoping that poker group that was beginning to form is still happening. I know someone in another forum mentioned they have a table, but I have an 8 seater as well and a large chip set. This totally needs to happen (I know, it sounds like I have a gambling problem, and I am OK with it )

Also, I wouldnt sweat apartments. I called around today, and if you are not getting a place till July or June, no worries. Most of the places I talked too said they operated on a 30 day or 60 day notice, and didnt know if they had openings for that time frame yet.
