We were planning on holding the party on the Thursday night of ASW (March), although we'll certainly be around next week and would be happy to let people view our apartment.ma456 wrote:Ship87 wrote:Not for Mondays but I'll be up next week. Aww, sad times! I won't be able to make the ASWs but I will be going to the "Monday at Columbia" on April 18... if you'd be up for showing another 0L around?Lem37 wrote:We were planning on holding the party on the Thursday night of ASW (March), although we'll certainly be around next week and would be happy to let people view our apartment.ma456 wrote:Ship87 wrote:Not for Mondays but I'll be up next week. Also, serious VCE fail. I got in ED back in December and just received my VCE yesterday. It has been completely ripped open (almost like with a letter opener), and apparently went to Germany before it came back to me. Luckily I got two more letters from CLS today (Dean Schizer and Women's Association)... geez, CLS, didn't you know you literally had me at "Congratulations!"???

Lol I'm in England, though, so it's not that crazy. Postmarked 25 January, which is crazy.LinzerTorte wrote:WTHpiccolittle wrote:

Re: Columbia Law Class of 2014
So, as a brief update, we won't be throwing a party for the first ASW because CLS's Public Interest Law Foundation is holding its charity auction that night, and basically the entire school goes. BUT, we're showing our apartment from 1:30-2:15 on Wednesday, March 2nd, and would love to meet some of you (we'll also undoubtedly be at the cocktail hour that evening - free drinks and hors d'oeuvres)! So definitely stop by - our info will be on the ASW itinerary you receive next week.piccolittle wrote:Aww, sad times! Columbia Law School awards grant assistance primarily on the basis of demonstrated financial need. There is no separate application for these fellowships.
my #s are hamilton territory so i was hoping that even though i didn't get one of the named schollys i might still have a shot at smaller amounts of merit aid, but does this mean that if i didn't get an award with the letter i can kiss all hopes of merit aid goodbye?
i am really sad now...

i remember someone saying something about this before but i cant find it:
if we didnt get a hamilton/butler, should we be doing anything financial aidwise (other than turning in the forms) until columbia makes its initial offer?

It's starting to look pretty difficult for me to attend either of the ASW's.
How helpful do we think it is to attend those things?

Re: Columbia Law Class of 2014
Hey All, I'm new to the forum and to the CLS crew. I found out a few weeks ago and got a quick succession of material - Admitted Students handbook, admissions letter, a HUGE "brick" of a portfolio and maybe another letter or so.
I'm just curious what other schools people are choosing between. I see a lot of NYU/CLS people. Are there other schools on the table for you guys? I'm really looking forward to ASD #2 for those of you going to that one!
Congrats to all!
