Hi guys! This will be my first post after lurking around TLS for over a year. Anyway, I was all set to pick Michigan until I got my scholarship notice from Duke last week. $22,500 more over the course of 3 years from Duke just might be a game changer!

Welcome to TLS, and congrats! It's cold in Michigan, anyway; come to Duke.

Scholarship application received 2/1, still waiting. I would say at least a few weeks.

Two big Duke envelopes in the past three days as I wait for my scholarship decision that was sent this week. Each one just giving me more of a reason to want Duke, but not a word about the scholarship. It's official, Duke is a tease.

Just fyi the scholly info comes in a regular sized envelope. So you don't have to get your hopes up if you see a big one. :D

Yeah and Gtowns.... :) I picked Duke's because it was the farthest from my house. Making the individual visit to Penn instead. Maybe our paths will cross elsewhere. UVA?

Got the law review one awhile back. Just received a letter from professor Coleman Monday and a package that looks to be from some of the assistant deans and the Student Bar Association with a bunch of info.

Ha I see you are avoiding me! lol and I am not going to get accepted at Cornell so that's not happening.

There are no receptions in NYC next week are there? I am on spring break, but all the receptions are over!

So you are making multiple trips to the east coast? Send me your itinerary, maybe we can have some zoo-meet-ups.

Super impressed by the handwritten note from the dean on the admit letter. Received the package today... super nice, beautiful viewbook.

I second the viewbook comment. My note was a bit generic. Nothing is going to beat the UVa note I got :D Although it is inconsequential when it comes to school selection.

I just got a third fake out letter today in the mail. First was the dean's letter with the law review article. Second was a professor talking about his work with the death penalty. Then my status changed to letter sent or something on the status checker and I got a letter in the mail. Turns out it's an letter from some of the advising staff at Duke Law and a magazine.

I need to stop getting my hopes up.

Does anyone know if we'll be getting any more from Duke outside of the letters and magazines? The admit package itself was really nice, but a lot of the other schools have followed up by now with more comprehensive packages. I would think that Duke would do the same, especially since we haven't really received anything about Durham, faculty profiles, course information, etc.

They'll keep sending stuff throughout the process. The website is really, really easy to navigate and has quite a bit of great information, as well. Check out this site: http://dukelawdenovo.com/ . They sent that around last year (maybe after deposits were due), and it was very helpful. Also, I'm sure that the current students that occasionally lurk on TLS would be more than happy to answer questions you all have.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
