Does it help my argument if I grew up in Miami? I suppose our two seasons were sweltering heat and hurricanes...

Texas here. Our seasons include Tornados and Mosquitos. Actually, that sounds more like plagues. It does snow about once every 2 years. haha

Mine was unsolicited. But I've heard of people getting them for like 2 weeks back, so they are probably going out in waves -- consider poor Dean Z's hand cramps if she wrote out personal notes to everyone all at once! Maybe yours is on its way to you now

I'm a hopeful 3.9/167 at big southern public uni; my mom is grad of UMich Dental and my grandfather is a grad of UMich med- you guys think this is any help? I got the letter from them waiving my fee and telling me about how they'd "love" (the word was underlined in pen with a personal signature on the letter) me to apply, which really flattered me. Also, would it mean anything to the law admissions office that I was admitted to Michigan undergrad, but could not attend due to financial inability? I applied RD because I am not sure I can afford to pay sticker price, but I think I'm willing to take the loans if accepted to UM/UVA/N'western.

Also, anybody got an idea about how long Michigan typically takes to issue RD decisions? My app got to Ann Arbor on 9/21, but I've yet to get an email telling me that my file is complete and ready for review- I imagine that'll come any day now. Whaddaya think?

I sent my stuff in first week in Oct last year and got a decision in Feb. Don't hold your breath waiting for decision, but don't despair either. It all depends what the cycle numbers for Michigan are this year.

I took my first LSAT in June and was definitely not prepared for it, hence the 161. My PT's recently have been 171-175 so I'm hoping to hit that in a week and give Michigan a serious look. My biggest problem is that my fiance is from Arizona. Gotta convince her that snow won't kill her before I even mention moving.

I received snail mail from michigan a couple days ago with a handwritten note saying they would "love" to talk to me about their environmental law program. Here's to hoping that is a good sign.

ahh i got one too that said that my finance degree would be great with a JD! even if they send it to a lot of people, that letter definitely made my day lol

They received my application on 9/10, but they said 3-4 weeks so I expect(hope) that it will arrive in the next week.
