So as far as the first tuition and housing payments, that all gets deferred as long as we get approved for our loans, si?

I mean, there's no way this can't be the case, and the law school had students last year, so...thecilent wrote:So as far as the first tuition and housing payments, that all gets deferred as long as we get approved for our loans, si?

Re: NYU Class of 2014
I was just accepted at University of Chicago, and I'm going to withdraw from NYU to go there. It's mostly for personal reasons, as I was really excited about NYU. I'm getting excited about Chicago now. Hard to go wrong with these choices! Anyway, I hope you all really enjoy NYU!

Does this include only private practice?
I'd assume it's even lower for those of us going into other areas

I was guessing PI dragged NYU's ranking down. But who knows. I may just move back to Chicago and slot myself with Northwestern and U of C at the top there.incompetentia wrote:Does this include only private practice?

I'm hoping this means some action has been taken WRT our loans, but I doubt it.

No email here. I'm going to just assume that this means I've been rejected from NYU and it's time to make plans to live in a box.

My work computer started acting crazy while it was attempting to download the images from that email. You don't want it, bro.incompetentia wrote:No email here. I'm going to just assume that this means I've been rejected from NYU and it's time to make plans to live in a box.

So how are we expected to pay for off-campus housing if we don't get our money till after school starts? I have a car--thank god--that I apparently MUST sell now; but how do other people do it?

You can turn your NYU pizza box and assorted printed materials into a convenient lean-to.TheKingintheNorth wrote:So how are we expected to pay for off-campus housing if we don't get our money till after school starts? Yeah was worried/pissed about this same thing. You just have to save enough to pay for first- and last-month's rent with also about a one-month security deposit. Kinda sucks when you are broke. I was budgeting like $5,000-$6,000 for it.TheKingintheNorth wrote:So how are we expected to pay for off-campus housing if we don't get our money till after school starts? Renting an apartment in Manhattan seriously sucks. I'd consider keeping the car, parking it in front of Vanderbilt hall and... using the showers in Coles?thecilent wrote:Yeah was worried/pissed about this same thing. Also, my landlord took two months security deposit instead of last month and one month security deposit. It was a pretty great "adding injury to injury" move, I thought.

I think NYU's policy on loans is to wait until the government collapses and then let us all go for free

No.
The Bursar's Office will credit your account for your tuition and forward the balance once the lender gets around to sending money and they've deducted what NYU is owed.
