For those driving to SLD, do you have any details on mileage reimbursement? In an email, they specifically noted that there was a difference between the cost of gas and mileage, but failed to clarify exactly what I should expect. Clarification on the matter would be greatly appreciated.

I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing for housing. Apparently I should look at poolside though...

Re: Indiana Bloomington - Class of 2014
Just got email with the reading for SLD. Read through it twice, ran through about two highlighters, and ordered a three ring binder so I can take the appropriate amount of notes during the mock class...I'll prob give it at least three more run throughs and I'll reference the case book if need be
. In all seriousness this is my spring break week, and reading anything was the last thing I wanted to do.

I guess you've looked at the website, each of their properties is supposedly a quality place to live without being prohibitively expensive. Poolside was recommended to me by several current 2/3ls, they each individually concurred that it was good. The graduate-only tenants, underground parking garage, and across-the-street location were good selling points for me... I got a first floor corner which should be fun from time to time. I'll know more after I check it out next weekend.nelaw2010 wrote:Has anyone visited poolside apts? Or are u just going off of the website?

I got third floor...lucky me I guess. I'm just as excited to see the apartment as I am about the school. I'm moving in July but not doing the summer start, just wanted to be hassle free come August. Anyone else going to be in Btown in July either doing summer start or just coming early?

Me. I would prefer to live with someone else so I can find a nicer place for cheap. I dont mind living further from campus if the place is really nice. I have pretty much ruled Poolside out BTW. It appears to be a good price and good location, but the apartments seem too small and dont have laundry in the unit.beidoun wrote:Is anyone planning on living with a roommate?twairlines wrote:I just put my deposit down at poolside today...seems like a great convenient placeredrose11 wrote:I just committed as well. Ha ya I'm a dude and wasn't too worried about the size or linen accommodations, I think they only have like 1 apt left anyways.I have pretty much ruled Poolside out BTW. It appears to be a good price and good location, but the apartments seem too small and dont have laundry in the unit.

Re: Indiana Bloomington - Class of 2014
I am trying to decide between living with a roommate and living alone. I have been out of college and living on my own for 5 years, but might like to room with someone to help with cost. I would prefer to live close to campus, but I think that it would be even more affordable with two or more people.cowgirl_bebop wrote:Me. I have been trying to check out housing via the internet. I agree that Poolside doesn't look all that nice. I did like the photos from Washington Terrace a better. Its a little further from school, but only by a few blocks. What about getting a house? PM me anyone who might be interested.

My thoughts exactly... been out of school for a bit myself. And there are quite a few really nice options I've found real close that would be made much more affordable with a roomate or two.

Has anybody looked into gaining residency in Indiana?
This is posted on TLS about Indiana:
I'm considering a joint degree if I attend Indiana, so establishing residency could help a great with the cost of tuition; however, this information complicates that idea.
This is posted on TLS about Indiana:
http://www.top-law-schools.com/law-scho ... dency.htmlINDIANA: In order to become a resident of Indiana, one must reside in the Hoosier State for 12 solid months prior to the 1st day of classes. Additionally, at no point in that 12 months can the would-be resident's main purpose for being in Indiana be to obtain an education. This makes it troubling for those who hope to get residency by 2L year. Important also to note is that, unlike many other states, marrying an Indiana resident and moving to Indiana does NOT confer resident status upon the nonresident spouse.

I can't make it to SLD but I visited earlier this month. Since I'm missing this TLS meet up we should have another one come August.

Heard it was Friday at Nicks at either 8 or 9:30, I would check but I am at work and can't get on the Maurer 2014 facebook page. Speaking of facebook, I don't wanna be cheesy or anything but someone should make a group so we can at least creep on each other a little bit before school starts- the current page doesn't allow you to see who else "likes" it
