I remember "end of June" being a phrase tossed around.

On a similar note, does anyone know the likelihood you'll need to rely on something other than Grad plus loans if you have a 700+ credit score?

Awesome, thank you! I had no idea this feature existed. :D

Edit: Here's how to enable it http://www.google.com/support/accounts/ ... opic=28776

Going by the information here, I'm guessing you're fine given that credit score: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grad_PLUS

Also, have rates on the Stafford and Grad Plus loans risen dramatically in the last five years? After talking to people who went to grad school earlier in this decade it seems like we're paying far more.

i was under the impression the actual score had nothing to do with it...just delinquices, leins, collections, etc.

I think Grad Plus loans have been steady at 8.3% for a while now--with stafford loans around 3-4%. I think the issue is tuition increases. We need larger loans, but i'm not sure how that impacts federal lending rates,

It's about only a bit above average as far as I know, but my question was more like "Is that all I need for full federal coverage?"

I dunno, but your King in the North is, uh... yeah. A guy who does stuff.

Why did HBO start that series when all the books weren't finished?

It's a conspiracy to get GRRM to write faster. Now he only has 6 years to finish the last two books.

They didn't want to wait 15 more years.

Sorry to bear bad news, but 3-4% is for undergrad. "Graduate Stafford Loans (both subsidized and unsubsidized) have a fixed interest rate of 6.8% through 2013." GradPLUS is 7.9% though.

Anyone looking at living in Jersey? Hoboken and Jersey City are quite close, and much cheaper. Only problem is then you're living in Jersey, I guess.

One of the students touring my group at ASW lives in Jersey. During normal hours it's probably pretty convenient.

The PATH train stop is like what, 4 blocks from the school? I suppose it could work if you find the right place.

How are any of you going about finding roommates, if you aren't doing the NYU housing?

I don't think I want to live in NYU housing...

Not that, I just didn't find it that appealing. 1L is important, but being surrounded by 1Ls, 2Ls, and 3Ls... not so enticing.

I understand. My rationale was that 1L is important, so being walking distance from campus, living in a "studious" environment and creating a social network with the law students would be very valuable. I felt that I would lose some of that living farther away.

I'd prefer to learn the city first before renting on my own, too. I get both sides of the picture, though.

Is anybody else nervous/excited about section assignments? It's probably not good that there's really only one that I want over all the others (not that I'd hate any of them)...

How do you know which section you'd prefer? What's the difference between them?
