Either way, I seriously doubt they'd ramp you up an extra $400-500+ a month if there's no room.

Was your app in before the lottery deadline?

Considering that I'm going to be relying on LRAP, I'd probably be pretty pressed if some of those ended up being my assignment.

Seeing as I'm relying on loans and probably no LRAP..it's all the same to me. 170k vs 200k is really the same in terms of how miserable I'll be when I graduate unemployed.
Fortunately that's not going to happen to you. :D

Can I get some help? I'm filling out my Medical documents, and I realized I don't know what my NYU 9 Digit Student ID Number is or how I can access it. Can someone let me know where I can look this up? Thanks!!

It's your N number (starts with a N). You should have received an email with it and your net id.

Thanks! I think I need to make a document to keep all this stuff (and the dates for everything) straight.

It'll be printed on the back of your student ID too, in case you forget. Which you won't, because you'll have to use it for about a billion things.

Where/when should i have gotten information about the medical stuff that needs to be filled out, how to pay tuition, etc. If it came in the mail I'm worried it may have gone to the wrong address or my old address after I moved.

You came off the waitlist right? Wait a few more days and then call and ask if they can resend it.

This weather is way too warm for me. I'm holed up at my place, trying to convince myself that 73 isn't all that hot and that I shouldn't turn the AC up any more.

Hot time, summer in the city...

It's 96 in New York today and my sublet doesn't have A/C, so forgive me for not feeling sorry for you.

It's a hell of a lot better if you're sitting on the beach drinking beer. I think I forgot my name a couple times while I was out there.

Now that I'm back in Chicago... It's like mid 90s out there. The asphalt stores up the heat and you can feel yourself slowly baking as you walk down the street. It's pretty nice.

I was trying to explain to a friend of mine who lives in New York the COL differential between here and there. I started looking for places in Chicago that were in the studio price range for Manhattan - big mistake.

I'll be almost quadrupling my rent from 50o to around 1750+. I'm selling my car and have a 45k total scholarship but otherwise i'm broke.

I don't give a fuck though. Lower Manhatten with solid (edit: relatively) career and income prospects? I don't know any of my peers who arent at least kind of jealous.

I'm halfway through a cross-country road trip with a friend. This was definitely the right way to spend part of my summer. Jetskis, lake houses, jogs in the Rockies, microbreweries, and lots and lots of driving through cornfields...not bad at all.

Still holding out hope that my finances will allow me to do something like this in August.

So jealous.

Officially checking in. Accepted my offer from the waitlist today and withdrew from all other schools. See you in August!

Same! So, does "shortly" mean "any moment now" or "next week"?

My hope/hunch is we'll learn the specific assignments later today. I had called in to the housing office at the beginning of the week and they said we should receive our assignments this week.
