Did you ED? I noticed you already show yourself as a member of the class? If not, of course you still have options though they may be lower ranked options...socraticmethodman wrote:Guys, the more I think about sticker at UVA, knowing that I have no interest in biglaw, and that LARP is not guaranteed, the less I know what to do. Could you expand on that please?SMM didn't say that he was getting less and less interested in biglaw the more he thought about paying sticker. he just said that he had no interest in biglaw, and that the more he thought about paying sticker the less he wanted to go to UVA all things (biglaw non-interest) considered.
i digress.
I knew you were just trying to get me..lol

I didn't ED, but the only other schools I've been accepted to are regional, and I have no idea where I want to practice. When I got accepted to UVA, I was deadset on attending because they are a t10 school and have strong national reach, but now I'm just really nervous. I guess the thought of 200k in debt is really getting to me.ksimon2007 wrote:Did you ED? I noticed you already show yourself as a member of the class? Worst come to worst, 200k loan repayment starts at around $1200 a month. If you get a (biglaw) job 2L summer, the burden will be a lot less.

We must be obnoxious about this, just to match everyone else that moved up.socraticmethodman wrote:

In more serious news, getting excited for Thursday/Friday.
I'll be wearing the WVU shirt at the bbq.

Well don't be a stranger. I have been considering wearing my magenta polo shirt, but after getting verbal jabs that's not happening. I'll be more subtle with pink haha.WVUCelticFan wrote:We must be obnoxious about this, just to match everyone else that moved up.socraticmethodman wrote:

I've been wondering how dressy/dressed down we should be for ASD. You guys are just wearing tees then? Is it warm enough to wear shorts?ksimon2007 wrote:Well don't be a stranger. Most people dress casually, in my experience. Jeans and a t-shirt is fine. Friday is supposed to be in the 70s, so shorts will probably work.I've been wondering how dressy/dressed down we should be for ASD. You guys are just wearing tees then? Is it warm enough to wear shorts?

I'm pretty much planning jeans and golf polos for both days. Look halfway decent and keep me from stroking out (get hot easily). I did the same at W&L's ASW and blended in fine.

My apologies for derailing the financial aid/asw topics, but has anyone going to the April ASW been contacted yet for staying with a law student?

I signed up for ASW 2 yesterday and it seems like they cap it off at some point, so maybe nobody hears until they know how many admitted students requested it?bluecrab5448 wrote:My apologies for derailing the financial aid/asw topics, but has anyone going to the April ASW been contacted yet for staying with a law student?

Negative. I also met someone going to ASW 1 over the weekend and they hadn't been contacted yet either....c_dubya_s wrote:Nope. I was contacted by a student liaison, who was very helpful yesterday (ASW 1). I did not sign up to stay with a student. I think if someone has not heard from the host, they should call admissions office.R.R. Raskolnikov wrote:Negative. I got my aid packet yesterday. All it listed was the merit scholarship I got a few months ago (no loan package or anything), because I hadn't filled out my FAFSA yet. I am planning on doing my FAFSA tomorrow; is there any chance they will give me need aid (I'm poor) or up my merit aid (I have been trying to negotiate using other schools' offers)? Just hoping that because my FAFSA is a little late that doesn't mean I'm screwed for round 2 of aid.

I don't think you get anymore gift aid than your merit aid already given out. Might be able to negotiate for more?616rewind wrote:I got my aid packet yesterday. Yea, I probably won't get anything else. Have other people gotten additional aid (whether need or merit) this week after getting merit offers?r6_philly wrote:I don't think you get anymore gift aid than your merit aid already given out.
