Try Hotel 17 near Union Sq. It's around $120/night and is solid all around. Cheaper than that and just go with a hostel.

Anyone know what's up?

I had to wait a day to access home.nyu.edu after activating my Net ID.

i hope so. I've had several over the years. I really don't want to go on a wild goose chase for records. I hope they were transferred or something.

ahhh ok, thanks! Guess I'm just used to the instant gratification of most sites these days!

For people who got the forms already, do we need to have a physical exam?

You had to turn in immunization records for undergrad too, so it might be easiest to contact your UG and see if they still have a copy of what you sent them.

No physical necessary, but if you really want one I'm sure it couldn't hurt, just make sure to attach the results as an addendum and to make the physical NYU specific. Some examples, tell the doctor to use purple gloves and/or refer to you as Violet throughout the physical. Adcomms are pretty good about detecting a generic physical, so be unique!

Too much?

Seriously though, don't get a physical.

Ahhh I was going to say the Williamsburg Waterfront concerts but they don't start til June. Get stuff from whole foods at columbus circle and sit in the meadow in central park drinking spiked lemonade. Get dumplings in Chinatown and walk down to the river past the seaport. Go to Battery Park and have a glass of champagne/summer cocktail at the bar at the Ritz (a treat, and a ridiculous view). Go to terminal 5 and see a show. Go to Williamsburg and check out some thrift stores, or to Coney Island for a kitschy late afternoon/early evening (it really is unbearable in the middle of the day). Drink.

Things to do with parents in new york: (BY NYU): Museum of contemporary art, tenement museum, strand books, shopping in soho/les (spring st or orchard st are good bets for browsing) (ELSEWHERE): ny moma, the met, the frick...going wayyy uptown to the Cloisters is definitely cool. Have lunches and dinners places you know you aren't going to afford in school.

Oh and if you feel like an adventure and the weather is nice, take the LIRR to Bayshore and grab the ferry out to Fire Island (there's a bunch of buses and taxis always milling about from the station to the docks). Bring alcohol and snacks and sit on the beach and hang out for the day.

Can I just do that every day and pretend to be enrolled in my classes for 3 years?

I think NYU would probably nix you after the first year, but your family and friends don't have to know! :D

Hey, with the amount of money I got, I'd save $135,000 over two years.

I rented a furnished studio for ASW. I was pretty happy with it. It was like half a block from D'Ag on sullivan. Check this site out: http://www.airbnb.com/

If you end up wanting to book there PM me for a link where we both get a $25 travel credit :D

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
